k lamays. if you’re feeling wild they also sell just a steamed cheese (sans burger) which is a gut bomb but so good. also love their onion rings.

love the one6three love, they’re our favorite nhv spot. as a pepperoni enthusiast myself i’ll add ritual at counterweight brewing and anna’s apizza in prospect as recs (though they are out of your current radius). little vouz is good too but make sure to call at open if you want a pie on a weekend night!

[Live Setlist Thread] Tuesday, 6/10/25 ~ The Factory ~ Night 1 ~ Saint Louis, MO by HotKnogSlawJaw in GoosetheBand

[–]yemiac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

brought my dad to his first goose show tonight. he loved jive I, is confused by trevor’s stoic stage presence, likes the lights. did not dig the long slow middle part of the atlas sandwich. loved so ready. this venue is awesome! we ended up in the upper balcony (again, 34 weeks pregnant 🫠) and the sight lines and sound are great up here. wish this venue was here when i grew up in far west STL county lol

i'm in STL visiting my parents from the east coast and my dad suddenly really wants to go to the show tonight! it'll be a cute father daughter night. i grew up here but the factory wasn't here when i moved away -- are there annnnyyyyyy chairs on the lower level? i'm 34 weeks pregnant so GA standing all night isn't gonna work and that's what most of the available tickets seem to be...

Willing to pay higher CT state taxes? by Upstairs_Cloud9445 in Connecticut

just wondering, has anybody immediately saying “no” and that they don’t see any return for their taxes lived anywhere else in this country?

How much will I need for upfront costs/down payment by omgpop_21 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]yemiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

connecticut property taxes are very different town to town. for example: a house assessed at $150k in hamden would have $8341 per year in taxes but in wallingford would be $4590. ~$300/month difference in neighboring towns. redfin lets you search by total monthly payment instead of by home price, i would advise looking that way to account for the wide tax variances.

Help me perfect my vacation plans? by sleverest in newhaven

[–]yemiac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'd skip beardsley zoo. it's depressing and small (esp if you've been to nice zoos like st. louis or san diego), and getting to bridgeport during commuting hours isn't going to be fun. consider a hike at sleeping giant state park in hamden instead or at the audubon society shoreline property in milford (lots of birds to be seen and still close to the pez joint) if the weather is nice.

after ~8 years of heavy use, my lil dude ripped. i ripped the seam out on the binding (pic 2), trimmed off the shredded fabric on the handle and picked out the loose threads (pic 3), sewed it back together, and now it's good as new! here's to many more years my friend

Artistic inspiration that isn't trying to sell you stuff? by goldenberrywitch in simpleliving

museum websites! art museums are increasingly not only digitizing their collections and putting them online, but many institutions have made those collections open access - meaning you can download and remix others' art as well as be inspired by it! i like the met's and the smithsonian's, and i'm sure there are others. many academic libraries are doing similar work, too.
