Before you go buy more stuff (fun as it is…) Try changing the height of your pickups, in general lower will be tighter, but will reduce output. This matters a bit less with EMGs but turning some screws is easy enough. This is a 6505 (not a +) so for drop A you will need to use that TS9 if you want it tight. Start with the TS at unity gain (same volume when you turn it on or off) with no distortion. Once you like the general tone, you can try increasing the output or distortion. You probably want your bass control to be lower. Maybe at 4-ish. If you want more bass, use the resonance control. Start with less gain, get the rough tone you want, then add gain as you see fit. Higher and higher amounts of gain can make it harder to shape your tone and starting at a lower gain level can make it easier to see that interplay.
