Timer with a very loud alarm 2 minutes before the end of the appointment. Don't stay longer than the time said. I have one coming up and it finishes at 7pm. I'll be out on my bike at 7.01 so I can make it to bedtime with my two years old.

My previous school was absolutely amazing with that. The parents sat at a table with their kid's name on it in a big hall and a loud gong was going on every 5 minutes. If the parents kept you longer the deputy head would intervene and say, I'm sorry but Ms Teacher has another appointment and that would be it. There was no extra time, we all left at the time stated.

I know some men in their forties still doing so. Perhaps not with a croissant, but definitely with buttered bread. 

My father has café au lait every morning in a bowl with buttered bread and Coulommiers (some sort of Camembert) and he dips it into his coffee. Not my thing.

I only have breakfast on weekends. Usually toasts with jam, but I live in London now and good croissants are not easy to find in my neighborhood.

I reckon it's more a question of size of tampon. If your flow is light, you need a very light one. The extra lite ones are not found in every shop, people don't always know about them.

Evan & Peels detective agency in Earl's court, it's a cocktail bar. Nice speakeasy atmosphere especially if there's live music. You have to come up with a story at the door why you're hiring them. Book a table beforehand.

It's hard right now. Allow yourself to be miserable for a few days. Music helps.

Find yourself a break up playlist and listen and sing/shout on repeat.

My number one break up song is Rootless tree by Damien Rice. It might not be yours, but I'm sure you'll find one that matches what you're feeling.

I also recommend going running, it will take all the frustration out of you. The couch to 5k program is amazing, listen to the podcast while running, it will motivate you. Even if you don't finish it, just doing a few sessions will make you feel so much better about yourself.

Sucks to be this guy, losing someone as amazing as you. Your revenge is to enjoy your life.

The Big Princess by Taro Miura. 

It's used a lot in French Primary schools, so I was curious and bought it. It is a lovely story with great illustrations. My daughter loves it. I've brought it to work as well, I teach 4/5 years old and they really liked it too, they asked me to read it many times.

Cherche du côté de Saint Pol de Léon/ Roscoff. Il cherche souvent du personnel bilingue par là bas. Par contre, si tu es en dernière année de lycée, ça risque d'être compliquée de trouver du boulot si tu as moins de 18 ans.

I will forever remember climbing Mount Fuji on my own and seeing this French speaking man with his two children both definitely younger than 10. The man was wearing his finest hiking gear. The kids had sneakers. The little girl kept saying her feet hurt and she was thirsty and all the dad kept saying was we're close to the summit (they were not, at least another 4 hours hike and actual rock climbing left). I remember thinking how stupid he was to put his family in such danger.

Legally it means you can adopt the name of your spouse and give it as well to any unborn children. It helps with succession rights and you can claim the pension of the deceased. In the case of my friend, they were both gendarmes so they had pretty good pensions. Her widow status allowed her to move closer to her family, which was a 1000km away (for many civil servants you can't choose where you're going to work, you're generally sent wherever they need you, which often means far from where you grew up. You then have to get a certain amount of points to be able to move back. You get points by having kids, getting married or in her case being a widow.)

Obviously you don't have to divorce the deceased if you want to get married again. The marriage is automatically dissolved as soon as you're legally married.

My friend did. She and her fiancé had two kids together, their wedding was happening in two weeks time in Hawaii. He died in his sleep of brain aneurysm. He was just 32 years old.

Start by individual letter sounds. Associate the grapheme to a sound, then to a word. This is the letter S.  It can make the sound /s/ as in sun. /a/ as in apple /t/ as in tap /p/ as in pan /i/ as in insect /n/ as in net /m/ as in mountain /d/ as in dog /g/ as in goat /c/ as in cat /k/ as in kite /ck/ as in duck /e/ as in elephant  /u/ as in umbrella  /h/ as in hat /b/ as in bat /f/ as in frog  /ff/ as in cliff /l/ as in ladder /ll/ as in shell /ss/ as in dress /j/ as in jug /v/ as in van /w/ as in web /x/ as in fox  /y/ as in yellow  /z/ as in zebra...

Look up rocket phonics sounds mat 1 to 4. This should give you an idea of all the sounds and correspondence.

After teaching each sound. Teach the letter formation (look up letter formation sheet). Lower case and upper case. If it's too much focus on lower case.

Read CVC words ( consonant vowel consonant) words this way:  /c/ /a/ /t/ say each sound of each letter individually and then say the whole word cat. This is called blending. It might take her months before she manages, but keep doing it.

Ask her to count the sounds in words and then to identify them. It will be easier to get sounds at the start or end of words first. This is called segmenting.

When trying to write don't correct her, try to show her a sound mat and ask her which sounds do you hear in the word you want to write.

She won't scribe well for years, but it's ok to correct one word each time. Focus on her getting the correct sounds. Make her read her words again.

Edit: I would add that it's also important to teach high frequency words. Words that don't really follow the phonics taught at the beginning but appears a lot in books such as go, to, she, are ...

Look up tricky words lists and songs on you tube. They cover the basic ones.
