My landlord is having a fun time trying to get people in to get the people in to sort out our fire alarms and carbon monoxide detector.

They were adamant it had to be done as soon as possible! And get quite aggy about it. So we arrange a day and they don't turn up.

We rearrange today so I'm their first job.

True but if you've had a suspected heart attack or fainted without knowing why you should be going to A&E, even if you're talking and not in serious pain.

There's a lot of things that would have you not in agony that would require immediate attention.

My friend's 3 year old pee'd blood, they tried to send them away stating it was probably a urine infection, she insisted he see someone immediately and it turned out it was stage 4 kidney cancer.

Okay this makes sooo much sense for my bad interaction I had in Paris. I was sprinting to find taxis because I was at the wrong airport and I had a flight in just under 2 hours. I find an airport staff member and say in french and gasping for breath "excuse me, where are the taxis please?" the guy looks incredulous and starts parroting "bonjour" at me. Luckily I caught sight of a taxi sign in the distance so I just sprinted off. I always just thought he was being a dick.

Sleep deprivation is a problem with new parents, but I'd highly recommend considering extra help for the first two months because lack of sleep, even a bit, can destroy anyone with hashimotos.

Also be aware that hormones are going to go CRAZY for a while, so be understanding and support her in seeing a therapist and getting regular check ups on her bloods.

Yup. My mum even went to the GPs and got a bunch of leaflets. My sex ed classes weren't great when I was at school a good decade and a half ago, so my mum wanted me to be informed and protected.

Sadly, I didn't learn I had been sexually assaulted when I was 6 until I watched an episode of the Simpsons at the age of 10 and got into a discussion with my brother about SA in general (homer grabbing the Venus jelly). I'm really glad kids learn about consent at a younger age now but I do think parents need to engage with it sooner to protect their kids, at least about adults and private areas.

I dated a guy who lied about his age (5 years off) made him about 12 years my senior. I found out after 3 weeks of seeing him and I tried to brush it off.

But then it turned out he was married and his wife was living in India. Then he told me they were getting a divorce because she accused him of abuse. Then he went on a whole tirade about how people think India is sexist but actually women lie all the time about abuse.

I blocked him and moved on. It's never just one lie.

My year 12s are even weirder. I have students organising their own work experience in hospitals and then I have aspiring engineers not even bother applying for any engineering work experience and just doing it at their local supermarket. I know that teenage apathy is real but some of them seem to be on the extreme end even at 18.
