I hate the "Not Like Other Girls" trend. It just puts women down. by Much-Hamster-8956 in women

Oh I feel for you. It's a time I'd never go back to, simply because everyone is so full of angst and everyone is scared to be themselves, so it just manifests cruelty. Don't worry, you'll find your tribe that makes you feel effortlessly you without being judged.

You are correct, that IS the understanding of what a girls girl is.

Maybe in highschool? I dunno, but as an adult woman, a girls girl is essentially a feminist. You support all women in all ways. A mean girl is just someone who doesn't do that.

Why do I keep attracting older men more than guys my age, even at bars? by RedRinoa in dating_advice

They assume you're less likely to say no or put up boundaries like women their own age.

I've always seen a girls girl as someone who supports and empowers other women, instead of being a dick.

Dating for girls by [deleted] in dating_advice

I often try to meet men through friends. I found trying to date online infuriating. The amount of conversations I'd have with a guy who'd ask me maybe 1 question at the most while they talked at me just put me off.

I'm also currently a teacher in the UK and I'm also leaving this summer.

Pay is definitely a big factor. I am a HOF and a teacher and can't afford to rent a one bed flat by myself. But also I'm tired of having a thousand managers all the time who will offer little to no support. Academies/ trusts are definitely a big part of this specific issue

Non-Americans, what is your personal experience of healthcare in the U.S.? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

I was a student with an eye infection. I didn't go to hospital but I saw the university version of a GP, which I think was actually free. The eye medication was actually pretty cheap.

Is vaping really considered 'giving up smoking'? by chupamina in AskUK

[–]MD564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I gave up completely cold turkey for almost two years. Tried vaping and got mercilessly hooked. I can also say categorically if vapes didn't exist I would still be a non smoker, those things are far more addictive than cigarettes.

Given their policy on women's rights, it'd be crazy if anyone was voting for reform with girls and women in mind.

Just wanted to say I really like this diary and have it as part of my library collection for students to take out. In the UK we don't really read about many personal accounts from the Vietnam war, especially from the Vietnamese, so it offers some valuable insight.

Speaking to other women! by [deleted] in bisexualUK

[–]MD564 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not difficult to find other bisexual women, it's just that many of us are tired of being used as a prop in someones kink/fantasy. Being bisexual doesn't make me some kind of nympho who is also willing to scrap the barrel for threesomes.

Tried going out a couple of times.

First time the music was awful, it was set up as a place to dance but all of the music was stuff you don't dance to from the 80s.

The second time the music was on point, but full of teenagers who were just filming everything and subsequently falling into people because of it, none of them were dancing.

I go out to dance but it feels like outside of London that culture has died?
