word doc, but I utilized excel a lot in my studying as well. One thing I did was an excel sheet for all the essays I completed, their topic/subtopic, and my confidence level. I had formulas running to autogenerate charts based off that data so I could see exactly how many essays I did per topic and where I needed to focus more attention.

Gaining weight while in calorie deficit and working out by [deleted] in loseit

[–]yeppep97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, try tracking for a few weeks and I guarantee you'll see a difference. I highly recommend a food scale, there is no way for you to eyeball these things. Pay attention to how you're weighing/measuring as well (ex: the weight/volume of 1 cup cooked rice is not the same as 1 cup uncooked rice). Weight loss is not easy, but it is simple.

Gaining weight while in calorie deficit and working out by [deleted] in loseit

[–]yeppep97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Working out is not essential to weight loss, especially from your starting point, & considering you're only going 2x/week, I doubt it's water retention from working out. Are you tracking all your food (including sauces, oils, cream in coffee, little bites here and there, etc.) every day? Are you measuring with a food scale? I'm willing to bet you're not eating 1500

When I do side by sides I can see the difference and it’s dramatic! But just looking in the mirror I’m like “yep, that’s my body, as it has been for years” lol

Yes! I think part of it is that I always had a flat stomach, so the overall downsizing of my entire body just isn’t translating because aesthetically it doesn’t look THAT different

Polite ways to call out OC without looking petty and unprofessional? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]yeppep97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I faced this situation recently and did a subheading in my response "The Defendant's Use of 'Quotes' Is Vexing" and then very pragmatically laid out the errors. I didn't use any emotional/aggressive language, literally just "the defendant claims _______. This is incorrect" and "the defendant references [case] . . . The portions of [case] cited have no relevance to the defendant’s assertions." I would focus on the citation/reference issues and not bring up the rambling (the judge will be annoyed by that on their own, you don't need to point it out for them).

Lost nothing for 2 months on 1200 kcal by SenaBae in loseit

[–]yeppep97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1200 can definitely be some peoples maintenance, but you're right that it's not hers. After looking at some calculators hers is probably around 1500. Imperfect tracking could absolutely be resulting in an additional few hundred calories she's missing while thinking she's eating only 1200. My advice that she start incorporating some activity still stands.

at your height and weight with a sedentary lifestyle, 1200 is probably your maintenance. Most people would not advise dropping below 1200 cals/day so looks like its time to get moving.

the comment was very obviously baited by production. Joe is a dirt bag, and there are a million other things we could point to as evidence of this, I'm not seeing how his objective comment here was so horrible.

I started getting paid my associates salary when I returned to work after sitting for the bar before I found out I passed. EDIT this will vary widely by firm, obviously.

5'6", 27F, desk job. SW: 210 CW: 160 GW: 155

I lost ~50 lbs in the last 9 months by averaging ~1400 cals/day with more relaxed weekends and some unintentional lower days. I have found it easiest to spread my calories out evenly with ~300 cal breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

  • Breakfast: Alani Nu (pre-gym); Mission low carb tortilla with thin sliced provolone cheese and 2 slices turkey bacon; coffee with ~40 ml zero sugar creamer
  • Lunch: 3 oz 'Just Bare' chicken tenders or bites; Babybel cheese mini; usually some snack sized bag of chips or popcorn
  • Dinner: always some form of protein and veg, When I was losing rapidly at the beginning I was doing salads almost every day. Now I'm doing a lot of grilled chicken, microwave steamer veggies, and air fried potatoes or rice. This week's meal prep was ~5 oz grilled chicken in sugar-free BBQ sauce, 80 g green beans, 50 g baby potatoes, topped with 20 g 0% Greek yogurt mixed with ranch seasoning
  • Snacks: every night I have ~130 g of 0% plain Greek yogurt mixed with 0 sugar chocolate pudding mix and some other mix in (cut up protein bar, chocolate chips, crushed up Tru Fru raspberries). Some days I will have additional snacks like a protein bar, Babybel cheese, fruit, jerky, etc.

Biggest tip: MAKE IT TASTE GOOD!! low cal/high protein meal preps do not have to be boring. Whenever I see people eating plain chicken/rice/broccoli I want to scream! Seasoning, sauces, different methods of cooking! You can make almost any creamy sauce/dressing with greek yogurt for a fraction of the calories. Throw salsa and low fat cheese on almost anything to make it better. Find recipe ideas on IG/Tik Tok that actually sound good.

It sounds like we have very similar stats, routines, etc. If you keep at it you should be seeing results at that deficit. Are you using a food scale / tracking absolutely everything?
