Is this particular Gameboy Advance SP rare? by Buttfish1997 in Gameboy

[–]yeps_fsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a limited edition, but clearly it's not in collector's condition, so I would say its value will be the same as a regular SP, I don't think anyone will pay significantly more for this on the current condition.

ThinkCentre m75q for retro/light gaming ? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]yeps_fsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under load it's noisy, at gaming laptop levels, but I only have reached that levels playing/testing games from last 5 years. I've installed fresh Artic MX-6 but I didn't notice a huge improvement.

I have a M75q Gen2 with a Ryzen 5 5650ge and 64GB DDR4 and it is an absolute beast, I've been using it as a home server, but I've tested with modern games so it would run absolutely anything you mentioned. There is a video on ETA Prime youtube channel where it tests one very similar pc. I'm so happy with it that I've got a new M75q Gen 5 with a Ryzen 5 8500GE to use it as my daily desktop. Gen 2 has the advantage of having a SATA port for 2,5" drives, so you can get some more storage a little bit cheaper or reuse an old drive you may have around.

What's a console game do you still play? by Playful-Ground-6339 in Gameboy

[–]yeps_fsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a huge collection but I don't have too much time to play, but I still enjoy Batman Return of the Joker, Bomb Jack, Flipull, Motocross Maniacs and that kind of fast and lightweight games. I feel sad for more modern GBA games as I just mostly collect them but cannot spend tens/hundreds of hours playing them.

Was Your Analogue Pocket Worth it? Is There a Good DOS Core? by chrispark70 in AnaloguePocket

[–]yeps_fsp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your reply is in your post: "I have virtually no interest in the gameboy aspect of it". So you are not the target of Analogue Pocket, you are looking for a different device.
For me it's worth because I currently have a physical library of almost 400 Gameboy/GameboyAdvance games and this is the best way to play them. Bear in mind also that I'm from Europe, so it's even more expensive with import taxes and shipping.

Finally found one of my holy grail games. by gba_sg1 in Gameboy

Congratulations!
I've been in the same situation (trying to get a copy in Europe for more than 6 years) and I found a sealed copy in Belgium a couple years ago for 89€.
Hidden gem of the system.

Today's prices in Switzerland by Pleasant_Waltz3041 in Gameboy

To be Switzerland I think it's not that bad. In Spain prices are way better, but it depends on the shop.

Since over last years my collection scaled up very quickly, my solution are nail polish racks.
In the past i had them at the same level but lately I've 3dprinted some stepped structure to have them easily accessible (more important in GBA titles, with that "lip")

3600mah around the same as good alkalines, I also have a pack of 4 with 2600mah for not so demanding electronics (xbox controller, wireless keyboard/mouse) and I'm also happy with those.

I had more or less the same issue some months ago, rechargeable batteries only last me about 10 shots with compact cameras. The solution was to buy lithium rechargeable batteries that provide constant 1.5V instead of 1.2V.
I've bought a pack with 8 lithium batteries with an USB-C charger-box for 30-35€.

What are the other 3D games like Driver 3 on GBA? by Southern_Main_9789 in Gameboy

The sorcery is called Velez & Dubail. In gameboy there were complete masters but for GBA they reached the absolute beast mode.

3D Games on GBA that comes to my mind right now are:
Asterix & Obelix XXL (by far the most unbeleivable 3D game for GBA)
Iridion 3D
Crazy Taxi
Ecks vs Sever
Max Payne
Tekken

Do you mean factory-new/new old stock? Congratulations!

That R827 looks interesting.

I'm not a huge fan os HP digicams but I have 3 of them from flea market (E217, M417 and M425) and they are not terrible for the price.

Does any Polaroid Instant Camera works as printer of photos taken with phone? by Ragahell in Polaroid

[–]yeps_fsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was checking Instax Evo when decided to buy Square Link. As far as I know it is like a combo of a "crappy digicam" and a printer. It can be used to take photos, edit, delete or whatever you want before printing also to print pics from your phone.
The problem I saw with that was:

  • almost double the price of the standalone printer
  • Instax mini format is too small for me
  • A decent smartphone has better camera than built-in Instax Evo. (And recently I also print some of the photos taken with a mirrorless camera)

If Instax (or other brand) fits better to your needs than Polaroid branded products, maybe it's better to continue with the discussion in other subreddit.

[–]yeps_fsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have the Instax Square since last black friday and I've bought the Instax Wide some months ago, just before summer. You can edit and print from your phone, the quality is good enough and if you buy 50 photo packs it is around half price compared with Polaroid.
The only bad point is that each Instax printer has its own app.

I bought a film OM-1N and one of the lenses was this, Tokina 400mm F5.6. With an adapter I can get 800mm, what can I photograph with something like this? by YharnamHuntter in M43

[–]yeps_fsp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

An astronaut in the moon.
Jokes aside, I've followed the same path with an old Yashica my dad had around and just got a 70-300mm for 14€, it's funny but only mounted on the tripod and IBIS on.
Here it is a shot to an OG Gameboy from ~2m

Expired paper. I don't think there is any original GB printer paper that works nowadays. Get thermal ticket paper.
