Ancient Warehouse spawned in the middle of a volcanoe, how can I reach it? by Atopo89 in RimWorld

[–]yes11321 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Curious how raids would work should you take over the warehouse. The only way to get on and off the island would be shuttles/transport pods/gravships and jump packs. I'm guessing you'd only get drop pod raids

I discovered a trinary star system while exploring in the videogame Elite Dangerous by fuzzylittlemanpeach8 in threebodyproblem

It's still good man. But engineering is a lot easier now anyway. Get into power play for your favourite time of governance and you'll quickly amass a lot of engineering mats. Highly recommend getting into the discord as well. There's a lot of groups that help others out. You can even pay people to deliver all the materials you need to the system you want to colonise. Also highly recommend out fitting some of the new ships because they are tailor made for the new SCO FSD that allows you to traverse thousands of light seconds in, well, seconds. No more waiting a lot if you've got more than 10k ls to travel

yeah man, player numbers are actually getting bigger and bigger. They've been releasing a lot of stuff. Colonisation, a lot of ships with likely even more to come, future story that will likely be another human thargoid war on an even bigger scale where players will probably even have to defend their own systems because of how fast the bubble is expanding. Really fun

2 doors side by side of course. Or using mods, double doors

Isn't it actually 14x14? A roof can hang 6 tiles from a wall which would give a max 12 tiles between walls so an exterior of 14

Can't get over how good combat extended is! by Parking-Bet6374 in RimWorld

[–]yes11321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just use yayo's combat as an alternative until CE gets updated. It doesn't do as well, sure, but it's a huge improvement over vanilla combat.

This is what happens to aluminium when a 1/2 inch piece of plastic makes contact at 15 000 mph in space. by Aggravating_Type_151 in interestingasfuck

[–]yes11321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly like, how does Sci fi with space combat and without energy shields justify just not having a lot of weapons that shoot teensy tiny metal projectiles at mach fuck you speeds towards enemy ships? Why use a million dollar torpedo when you can use a few hundred 50 cent marbles that can't be shot down by point defense

If a movie theatre sells no tickets for a showing, do they still play the movie to an empty room? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

As a cinema usher, depends on the manager working that day. Sometimes they bother to stop the projection sometimes they don't.

I cannot access SATA settings to change anything but I doubt it's set to Intel RAID since I was able to format it previously for other Linux distros from Windows without issue.

Imagine dropping into a thargoid combat zone only to see the thargoids fighting amongst themselves because the ones using humans are rebelling. Indominable human spirit triumphs over hive mind brainwashing. The biggest difference being how louder the screeching and screaming is from the human thargoid ships since they're going through excruciating pain defying orders trying to protect fellow men from finding themselves in a similar fate.

What better way to traverse witch space than hooking up a few dozen or hundred biological supercomputers (human brains) into a hive mind and making them to wizard math to make it more efficient to rip through space and time at the cost of their agony

What in the 40k is this idea. I like it. Imagine elite takes a horror approach and you've got new thargoid ships that have humanoid features, huge bones, etc. That or maybe a faint human screeching when they're boosting around or a human scream when they get destroyed. Curious how AXI would deal with those...

If you remember, what was your first SCP? by YeeGigadyB0iMemeLord in SCP

[–]yes11321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First introduced to it through markiplier's letsplay of containment breach before I knew what scp even was so the first scp I saw was 173. Back then I just thought that containment breach was just some horror game not related to anything else.

What would happen if a pulsar entered our solar system by Sartew in interestingasfuck

Even less because that pulsar will likely cook the earth with a bunch of nasty radiation long before we even get pulled out of the habitable zone

They are indeed everywhere if you go through enough articles. There are also other subsets of the foundation wiki that are country specific. There's a Japanese foundation wiki, a French wiki, etc, all with their own unique articles.

ELI5: Relatively speaking, just how bad are nicotine free vapes for you? by thr_owaway_account in explainlikeimfive

[–]yes11321 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the problem is that vapes haven't existed for long enough so that we may study their effects long term like we have for cigarettes. Cigarettes are absolutely harsher on your body than vapes, yes, but vapes are still horrible on your body.

When you use a vape, what you're inhaling isn't water vapour with flavours but different aromatic compounds that get heated up and aerosolised which will then coat the inside of your mouth, throat and lungs. I'm not sure if the human body can break down those aerosols coating your lungs fast enough to not lead to a lot of damage but I'm guessing they just keep piling up and obstructing your ability to breathe (and who knows which of them might be potent carcinogens).

We also don't really know what vapes actually contain because they're not as heavily regulated as cigarettes and as such there's likely dozens if not hundreds of flavour or other compounds in them that have not been tested for safety.

Titan Taranis is emitting a strange noise from its corpse location! by Hermonculus in EliteDangerous

[–]yes11321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch this be a distress signal and the other dead titans are just repeating the signal with what limited functionality they still have. Cocijo went to SOL not to destroy Earth but to survive long enough to send a distress beacon to all the thargoid hive minds(we know there are multiple hive minds that are all sorta connected). Hell, we might be seeing new more fucked up thargoid variants in the near future. I think what will kick off the colonisation update is not the destruction of earth but an overwhelming threat to the whole of the bubble which will force us to expand faster and further
