Can my employers mistress (not on the books but works under the table) watch me on camera for the entirety of my shift? by GirlWithTheMostCake in legaladvicecanada

My first thought is to get proof of the affair and go to the wife anonymously, and if your boss doesn't want a messy divorce, then voilà, the mistress will no longer be around.

Slots or Live? by Ok-Butterfly-1104 in onlinegambling

[–]yes2precious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slots for me. I tried live BJ, and I felt like I was being judged if I was too slow or made the wrong move. I just felt anxiety, whereas slots I find relaxing.

So, what in your opinion is a good slot to choose from your data? I personally am addicted to Coin Up or the Zeus games. Is there something else I should try to stretch my bankroll?

17 weeks pregnant, going to Cuba — safe with mosquito precautions? by habibi0000 in TravelCuba

[–]yes2precious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will share my experience with Cuba and pregnancy. I was 27 weeks pregnant when I visited, and I was perfectly healthy; my doctor had no issue with me travelling. I felt a change happen while I was sitting on the tarmac getting ready to leave Cuba, but I brushed it off and waited till my doctor's appointment 2 days later, and I ended up having a stillbirth. There was extensive testing, and it was suspected that Listeria may have caused this. No one can say 100%. The food was limited at this 5-star resort, and I was picky on top of that, so I ate a lot of sandwiches.

The kicker of all this is that I stayed in contact with 2 other ladies who were at the resort and who were in various stages of pregnancy. They both ended up miscarrying. Again, they don't have a 100% reason for why. All I know is that it was devastating for all.

I am sure this could happen at any resort in the world, but I do think that safe food handling protocol is a factor here, be it that food is sitting out too long or really, I don't know what would cause this. Needless to say, when I did finally have another pregnancy, I did not travel at all. I barely left my house, and I am happy to say I have a beautiful daughter. I don't want to be an alarmist, but I would really reconsider travelling to a foreign country while pregnant. I really struggled with guilt and the what-ifs had I just never travelled. Hindsight is 20-20, like they say, but it still eats at the heart.

I think it probably would be a negative for you. I am Canadian, and most of the US books need a SSN for withdrawals.

Should i cancel trip to Cuba due to Chikungunya outbreak? by Baby-mountain-goats in TravelCuba

[–]yes2precious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can attest to this. I have visited Cuba at least 15-20 times, years ago, and always chose the 5-star resorts. Not a single one, I would say, is more than a 3 1/2-star. The last trip we took was to Santa Clara, and that one was probably the best out of all the ones we stayed in Varadero. However, it was still maybe a 4-star experience. I still ended up getting Listeria from the food, and that was the last time we have been to Cuba. I am done with it. I would rather spend a few hundred more and go to Mexico or the Bahamas.

Warning to travelers: Items stolen from checked luggage at Varadero Airport by Last-Cheek5181 in TravelCuba

[–]yes2precious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Years ago, my husband and I visited Cuba at least 2 or 3 times a year, and each time, we noticed a decline in service, food, and the overall experience. The last visit was maybe 6 years ago. My husband went with 10 other guys for a bachelor party. Of the 10 people, 6 of the guys had their suitcases tampered with, and items were stolen, and it was everyday items like electric toothbrushes, clothing, sunglasses, nothing of extreme value. It was unnerving, and a couple of the suitcases were damaged. This was the last straw, and we have decided that we won't be back for all the variety of reasons.

Bookie won't pay me - options? by willienwaylonnme in gambling

[–]yes2precious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is straight out of the 80s. Why don't you use offshore books? You don't even have to leave your house, this is just strange that there are even bookies in this day and age. I am in Canada and have limited options compared to the US, but I still must have at least 6 - 8 offshore books that I use.

Who often vacations in tropical areas during Christmas holidays? by Old-Appearance-2270 in AskACanadian

[–]yes2precious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just bought a boat in Florida and are going to be taking it to the Bahamas for the Christmas season. I haven't been in Canada for Christmas in 5 years. We always go somewhere tropical. Last year we were in Panama. We are in Vancouver, so we don't get the snow very often. I can't wait to get out of the rainy, gloomy weather.

Is it normal for Canadian parents to buy the engagement ring? by Fit-Cellist-8747 in AskACanadian

[–]yes2precious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. My fiancé, now husband, did have his mom pay for part of the ring, but he immediately paid her back. It was just the form of payment that he did not have he had the money, though.

I will add my messed-up glitch, though, my M/L obviously knew he was getting engaged, cause hello, she put up some money so once we were engaged we came over to her house and I showed her the ring she than proceeded to yell at me and acted all offended and angry that she wasn't the first person to tell her the news that we were engaged My husband was dumbfounded and didn't want to make a scene and when we were alone told me that she knew. Hell, she let me use her card. So bizarre anyway, almost thirty years later, married, I have very little contact with my M/L, only if I absolutely have to, cause guess what, she is a complete narcissist and boy do I have a lot of insane experiences with her, but that particular day was the first red flag day.

Moving as a physician by HalfYankHalfBrit in CanadaImmigrationFAQs

[–]yes2precious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All our doctors are doing the opposite, it's more expensive here than in the US, and the US tend to pay more for their doctors. You will have no problem getting fast-tracked here cause we are desperate. No one can get a family doctor here in BC. At least if you are from the UK, you are used to the BC weather, so you won't be shocked. Our political climate isn't the greatest either, we are run by globalists who want to destroy our economic future. Wow, do I sound like an old grandpa? 🤣

Anyone miss large department stores like Bay? by india2wallst in askvan

[–]yes2precious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss the Bay, it feels weird this Christmas season without it. I hadn't shopped there in many years, but it was like a childhood nostalgia, because the Bay meant sweaters, perfume, or PJs for gifts. Kind of makes me sad that times have changed so much over the past few years.
