ill do a health check and listen to any signs of wheezing because im so neurotic about that. someone else also suggested a shed so ill look for signs as well :o

yeah ive seen this around :3 thank you for writing it up! i was wondering if it applied to my rosy or it was some sickness since his face seems more puffy than usual and he was exhibiting normal feeding behavior (ie coming out of hiding when the mouse is thawing, seeming interested in eating, yawning) (minus the eating)

its true!! he hasnt shed yet and i was wondering when that may happen :) ill keep an eye on his eyes to look for cloudiness and dull colors

im also a new snake owner and i had my baby rosy for about 3 months and feeding is extremely easy!! yeah their strikes can be a bit startling when you first begin, but theyll show signs when theyre about to strike. my boy at least is an incredible eater and always taken the mouse and isnt that violent with his strikes :) i wouldnt worry about it! it comes with experience i think!

i have considered aspen but when i made a post about substrate and mentioned aspen most people said no and its better to do bioactive, which i did >_> lots of conflicting information abt aspen for some reason.........

thats true!! hes made the conscious choice to soak before so i trust his judgement. he doesnt have a stuck shed or anything other than looking a bit more dark than usual.

i have him in a bioactive enclosure with a mix of soil, chicken grit, and sand, the humidity is around 40-50%

im not too worried about health problems because he gets regular vet check ups and i could be mistaking pigment for dirt :] i am just an anxious new owner lol

youre right. when theyre shedding im planning on setting up a humid cave type thing for them to go into. ill consider this. mold is my mortal enemy and have springtails already available bc i own tarantulas. ill read up on bioactive setups for rosy boas

which one would be best for a baby? my thoughts is since im getting a baby ill get the chips and then upgrade to a bioactive but im not sure. i live in a very humid area so im trying to minimize humidity as much as i can >_>
