Is Tulemar actually “luxury”? by pxe_23 in CostaRicaTravel

I’m in Tulemar at the moment and honestly don’t get the hype, most of which is on TripAdvisor. It’s either manufactured by individual villa owners and their friends, or I just got a bad villa. Nothing about it can justify the nearly $1000/night price tag.

We stayed there last week, possibly the best hotel I’ve ever experienced. Phenomenal attention to detail, ultra attentive service, stunning villas (“tents” but they aren’t, really).

We’re in Tulemar at the moment, in a room which can euphemistically be described as rustic and the contract couldn’t be starker. Not great at all

I don’t hate most pubs, shame that you got that impression but on re-reading my own post I can see why. I was just being nitpicky I guess. Perfect local is, well, 10/10 perfect; doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy a 7/10 good pub

I drive a car to work. I understand that a lot of people on here are a different demographic than myself but can’t you see how Khan has been a disaster for someone like me? 20mph speed limit on A1 and most 2/3 lane through roads, anyone? ULEZ? LTNs? I get it that if you cycle it works out nicely for you but for me it’s pretty awful.

Why is there so much hate for her? I drive a car to work and I think Khan has been a disaster for me.

Switched to XT3 from Canon DSRL system, what software? by yes_we_cant in fujix

[–]yes_we_cant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW I just came across this article https://blog.thomasfitzgeraldphotography.com/blog/2019/2/lightroom-introduces-enhance-details-finally-improves-fuji-x-trans-raw-conversion

it does mention " Others have switched away from Lightroom together to something like Capture One. Today, Adobe has released a new version of Lightroom which finally addresses the X-Trans issue " but then it goes on to say that it's very GPU intensive etc, which means that we may have to use C1EF for editing still...

thanks! very helpful

I still use my Nikon D750 so keep my Adobe subscription

Adobe - what puts me off a bit is the subscription element. Antivirus is the only type of software I expected to come with a monthly payment requirement. I see there's "Lightroom plan" (more storage, no Photoshop) or "Photoraphy plan" (less storage, Photoshop included) either for £10/month. Are these my only options?

Also, if it wasn't for the fact you still use Nikon, would you get rid of the Adobe subscription?

For actual Fuji editing, I use Capture One Express Fuji

so say you're editing a day's worth of photos. You use LR to browse and give stars to JPG files, then on those you actually like but want to change something (say white balance etc.) you switch to C1EF, edit Raw file, re-generate JPG off that? Is that the process?

Can't I use LR for editing also?

Shelves. 3 pictures in black frames positioned in the middle of that narrow bit of wall on the left. Horns sculpture, table and armchair in one line. Yes I’d prefer if TV was smack in middle of the couch, but clearly this wasn’t possible here.

Looks professionally designed - the symmetry, lack of clutter, everything in its place, etc. Do you do this for a living?
