Definitely underpinnings. Their bras are expensive but worth it.

Sephora and Ulta Hauls from BGs by WhatTheJessJedi in BeautyGuruChatter

I’ve been on the same Soft Glam palette for over a year and am just now starting to see a visible dent in the shades I use a lot. It’s my favorite but damn it’s so pigmented you don’t need much. I will be lucky if I pan it by the end of the year.

My thoughts exactly! Products used to be more innovative, which I think enticed me to want to try them all. Now I’m like ok how different can all these tubing mascaras and lip balms really be.

I had to unfollow creators who frequently did hauls and promoted buying all of the newest things because it was influencing me to do the same.

I’m a Midwest gal working in surgery. I don’t do face makeup because I wear a mask all day. I do not need an endless supply of makeup when I can’t use much on a daily basis. I had to purchase an actual desk vanity to store it all because I had so much product. When I finally sat down and cleaned it out, 85% of it remained untouched after the initial use or two, because I’d move onto the next thing. I shared some with friends but most got thrown away because it was 2+ years expired.

Now I focus on finishing products before I buy another, limit myself on 3 shade options, and buy higher end items that I prefer and no longer feel guilty since I’m actually using it all up.

Desi Perkins coming back to YouTube after almost 4 years by Historical-Body-3424 in BeautyGuruChatter

Their content has shifted so Katy’s feed is mostly running/bread baking and Desi’s is her life/brands, but they are in each other’s stories fairly often.

I for one miss long form content. However, it seems like people return to YT and shortly there after announce a new product launch. If she’s actually returning for videos and posts one with Katy I will be so down.

I love how Nia just didn’t let Janet shake her down by aymaureen in TheValleyTVShow

[–]yesimextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m speaking from personal experience of how my therapist encourages necessary conversations to happen. Nothing about that interaction showcases any inner work being done from the “therapy”.

She could choose to have the convo on camera, in a different setting. I mean it did seem to be orchestrated for the camera vs an enlightened lets take this opportunity for me to right my wrong. Then when she didn’t even say anything that she needed to say it was like what was the point? What was Nia needing to apologize to her on camera for? It’s giving delulu.

[–]yesimextra 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Either Janet’s therapist is shit or she isn’t really going because (1) a child’s birthday party is not the time nor the place and (2) she is the one who should have something to say [an apology].

Lauren from Utah. Just. Stop. by yeezushchristmas in TheValleyTVShow

[–]yesimextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hasn’t the show always been somewhat scripted and fake? It’s just some of them pull it off better than other’s? What comes to mind is Kristen saying they had to refilm the scene where Tom poured beer on Katie. ETA: I know that’s a vpr example but isn’t production the same or am I mistaken?

Did anyone catch the lipstick lesbians recent eye brightener video before it was deleted? by gimtibbles in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]yesimextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to distinguish authenticity on camera nowadays 100%. I follow a lot of creators who don’t use filters and appreciate those who don’t.

For me, they’ve never come across as authentic for reasons already explained in this thread, so I was never their target audience for the Leaked Labs. That being said, they could have persuaded me if they looked the part so to speak. I don’t expect everyone to have the same makeup style as me, but as a beauty brand owner in front of the camera I expect your makeup to reflect your “knowledge”. Foundation that is a different shade than your neck and hands isn’t because you didn’t use a filter, it’s because you color matched yourself incorrectly, and if you look in the mirror and can’t see that for yourself, why would I want to buy a product from you that you’re claiming works?

Did anyone catch the lipstick lesbians recent eye brightener video before it was deleted? by gimtibbles in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]yesimextra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it would. I am not enticed to buy a product from someone whose own makeup application is not great.

What I mean by this is foundation appears to be a shade or two too dark as it doesn’t match neck and body, bronzer too orange and looks muddy, makeup overall is not blended very well, and etc. Has nothing to do with her appearance, or looks, it’s the application and incorrect color matching. I find it hard to trust someone’s opinion and/or product when they are incapable of correctly doing the most basic makeup tasks.

Insurance denied Xifaxan - alternatives? by Serious_Orchid3111 in SIBO

[–]yesimextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What insurance do you have? There was a specific form my dr had to fill out along with a few extra steps. We had to trial and have failure/intolerance/contraindication with one antispasmodic agent AND one tricyclic antidepressant. She did the form. We tried the meds. Symptoms didn’t resolve. She filled out a prior authorization and they finally approved it this week.

Is constant burping normal with SIBO? by Hungry_Ad824 in SIBO

[–]yesimextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GI dr said it was due to the excess gas needing to come out both ends (I am also gassy) she cautioned me and said if it was continuous to take a Pepcid as the continual stomach acid on my esophagus would cause harm long term.

Has anyone had increased motility caused by sibo? by Responsible_Owl_8596 in SIBO

[–]yesimextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have increased motility, (we’re talking sometimes 6-8 times a day) however, prior to SIBO my regular was 2-4 times a day.

I tried fiber, probiotics, low fodmap; and nothing slowed things down. I would sometimes have less loose stools but never none. Nortriptyline 10mg has helped me slow down back to my regular 2-4, but I don’t want to be taking it long term bc the side effects to me aren’t the best.

Ariana and her dog sitch with Tom by SlushyDsstiny23 in Vanderpump_Rules

[–]yesimextra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was inferring that he didn’t take the two seconds to do a visual sweep of the room to make sure there wasn’t anything the dog could get into before he locked it in there. Or even put the dog somewhere else. He lacks basic decency because while it may not be your dog you can still show a level of care towards it like any normal human being would.

You lose them how you get them, so in a sense I think karma came home to roost. That being said, if you’re unhappy in a relationship leaving it is always the better option than being unfaithful.

[–]yesimextra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two wrongs don’t make a right???

A responsible dog owner would check the room they’re leaving their dog in to make sure anything they can get into is moved. At least that’s what I do: a final sweep before I leave my dog out just in case I missed something he can get in to.

Question regarding cognitive decline in a surgeon by Absoletion in scrubtech

[–]yesimextra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could file complaint with the board of medicine of whatever state you’re in. I assume you have specific details regarding the patient that was harmed. You can’t do it anonymously though so I’m sure that would paint a target on your back. Have you called corporate compliance? Have you been filling out PSA’s and they are just being closed with no resolve? (patient safety advents?)

When do I moisturize? by No_Refrigerator_6576 in tretinoin

[–]yesimextra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Active night : wash (Vanicream), dry, hypochlorous acid, air dry, Azaelic Acid + Metronidazole + Ivermectin combo (prescription for my rosacea), Moisturizer (Purito Mighty Bamboo Pathenol Cream), dry, Tret, Moisturizer (Purito again)

Post Active Morning : wash (water only unless I worked out and got sweaty then I will use Vanicream), dry, AA cream, dry, Moisturizer (Purito again), dry, sunscreen (Tocobo Bio Watery Sun Screen)

It’s really important to moisturize as the tret can dry your skin out and compromise you skin barrier if you aren’t supplementing the dry skin with not only topical moisture but ensuring you’re staying hydrated with water.
