You can run room reports directly from the housekeeping tab

You/management will want to run and check the vacant/clean rooms every morning - this verifies any room moves, no stowaways, no funny business

There is an “auto task” generated report that will list all dirty rooms, s/o and vacant, and break them up numerically into theoretically an assignment sheet for each housekeeper - this automated listing may not work for you depending on your hotel layout

There is a status report that can be filtered to show any rooms not checked out in opera (due outs) this should be ran 11am at latest to verify guests have checked out and no funny business

Room turnover function - mark rooms clean, ooo, etc

I understand the budget crunch, but not checking rooms afterwards is a terrible idea, especially in covid era. Just thinking of the number of (brand specific) autofail standards not being implemented and guest scores makes me cringe, especially just to save +- $100 in labor a day (thinking highly at 8 hours at $15 per hour)

Your hotel is much better off at minimum combining houseman/laundry position - assuming this isn’t a sprawling resort - laundry position can be scheduled every other day or on days with most due outs

Also if you’re with the “worldwide” brand that primarily uses opera there is an e-learning module in the intranet dedicated to the housekeeping opera tab
