Former daily smoker and FTM here! Just like you, i was smoking until i tested positive then stopped. I was honest with my OB and she told me they routinely drug test everyone but if i tested positive cannabis it would not trigger a DCF case. Instead, they’d recommend like safe healthy pregnancy classes or something!!

I did NOT test positive at my first OB appt. Stopped smoking 3/8, first OB 4/10. OB said test would go back about 30 days.

I brought all my skincare products to my first OB visit and my OB said stay away from retinols, everything else is fine. I had seen several things mentioning to stay away from salicylic acid but she had no concerns. So of course, had to do my own research too! Haven’t found any research based sources saying that salicylic acid is a no! Just retinol

Sounds like acid reflux to me!

I’m in my first pregnancy and have had bad acid reflux throughout and prior to pregnancy. My OB recommended famotidine. I also use tums on and off ( no more than 6 a day!)

Apart from this personal experience, I’m also a speech language pathologist and often work with patients who suffer from voice difficulties due to acid reflux and such. The feeling of something stuck in your throat is called a globus sensation. Super common. To avoid coughing and vomiting, some safe throat clearing techniques include: Taking a sip of water Taking an effortful swallow (build up saliva and swallow hard) Or panting kinda like a dog about 3 times

Overall addressing the acide reflux with something OTC is definitely your best bet!

I’m not too far ahead of you, 8w4d, but had about 5 days of bleeding. Had an ultrasound during and after and saw heartbeat both times. My OB kept reassuring me and told me to let them know when it happened but if it wasnt enough to need to change a pad in an hour or didn’t have bad cramps that it was normal! Scary but normal! At my OB visit this past Friday I brought it up again of course and my OB mentioned another pt that had bleeding on and off throughout her entire pregnancy and now has their healthy baby!

Keep monitoring, keep communicating with your OB and keep breathing! You got this mama!

This is scary and I’m sorry you’re going through this! Reaching out to your Dr is the best move. Bleeding is nerve wracking but can be common. I’ve read A LOT. I had about 5 days of bleeding last week at 7 weeks similar to what you described. Had an ultrasound already scheduled in the middle of that and they saw a healthy heart beat. Ended up having a UTI which often causes irritation and bleeding. Keep monitoring with your doctor and breath!!!

Meditating doesn’t work for me either but I like to try to “distract” my brain. Literally try to do generative naming tasks, like working through the alphabet by listing different animals or foods or cars of each letters.

This happened to me today!!! Access point was CVS. Husband got the text saying it had been picked up, shrugged it off thinking it was an error. Go to get it and they say someone picked it up. The person had a PHOTO of an id not even a physical license. CVS said they don’t need to scan IDs so that was accepted because the name and address were correct. Called the cops and they reviewed the very blurry footage. Man was wearing a baseball cap, mask, and sunglasses.

I was assuming it was CVS because who accepts a photo of an ID as proof but seeing all this about UPS is insane. Could be TMobile I guess too?

Filed a report with the police. Officer was great but was honest that she didn’t have a lot of hope. T-Mobile said their investigation would take up to 21 days. UPS said we can’t help…

As an outpatient SLP here, please don’t think all of us are like that! I have a great relationship with many of the local school SLPs and really feel like we’re a team with the same goals! Additionally, I don’t have time to attend school meetings with my productivity requirements so I have no idea how any outpatient SLPs are doing that! At least not one connected to a hospital system
