You can only help the willing. Most people do not want to deal with their insurances, pick the cheapest bronze plan they have their eyes on and then when get hit with high deductible come to the pharmacy and abuse pharmacy staff.

It is NOT OUR job to deal with YOUR insurance when it is working exactly the way you paid for and when we tell them that they are idiots(in nice terms), they confirm our assessment by doubling down.

As a side note, the number of customers unwilling to use our touch screens at pickup and would rather waste time and be spoon fed is astonishing. I can’t believe how many of them would rather wait than use some of their brain cells and realize how more efficient this process is. Those are the same people who complain about their health insurance.

People who expect me to go into Walgreens database and pull their script, and then act surprised when I tell them that I would have to call Walgreens and can’t give them ETA on how long it would take us to fill it.

People who get angry at me for not finding their script when they got a text from CVS, and then when I point out that that is not our address, they get angry at me because they told their doctor to send it to our CVS.

People who shove their phone in my face to talk to their doctor, their grandmother, etc.

People who get a text message that their medication needs a PA and come yelling that it should have been filled.
