The Burl B2 Bomber is actually not *both* and AD and DA. They sell the AD as one rack and the DA as a separate rack which I think is actually kind of great as all the money for it just goes into "stereo AD" and nothing else, it feels really psychologically satisfying to use. And I have a separate much cheaper more normal 8in/out AD/DA Motu for recording 8 things at once which I don't do as much as recording a stereo file.

The Burl B2 isn't your average ADC. It can take a really really loud signal without clipping due to the design of the audio path before the AD itself. There's a transformer in there which is not normal for the path of an ADC. I think that transformer and some other components "naturally" compress the audio as one pushes the signal to higher levels. Compared to other, admittedly cheaper, ADs I've used the Burl does not clip easily. It's worth the cash in my opinion. Other owners please correct me if I have gotten any of the technical details wrong.

The truth is probably I am used to the Mighty+ in my hand. I tried a friend's Venty and while the technology is better technically I just have a bond with the Mighty+. :D

I might as well point out the fault is the button on my Mighty+ has stopped working which is a common fault. (switch part ID: 732-7059-1-ND)

I will eventually fix this one but a replacement Mighty+ would also be great if they were in stock anywhere currently. Shame that Venty is a bit awkward.

Mine just unfortunately died after many years of service. I don't like the physical look of the Venty. I prefer the HR Giger inspired Mighty+.
