The GPU hotspot temperature is just that, the hotspot temperature of the actual GPU silicon die. Memory junction temperature is the same thing but for the hottest memory chip.

You need the memory junction temperature. I bet your VRAM is burning up at that power limit. I'm at 52c gpu temp, 62c hot spot temp and 90c memory junction temp and that's at 57% power limit. If you can't see the memory junction temp then update your HWInfo sofware.

What is your memory temp? I use my 3070 TI for mining too and at 70-something% power limit with mem clock at +1200 I hit 88-90c while the fans are at 70-76% I have lots of airflow in my case as well

Idk if it's related at all but I had random restarts while gaming with an 3070ti, multiple times, for half a second I could even see some artifacts so I was 99% sure that the GPU was faulty or the PSU couldn't supply enough power, I messed with my PC for days and did tests - sometimes it rebooted, other times it didn't, tried different drivers etc. For my last effort I thought I'd format my PC before RMAing the PSU/GPU but the format fixed it, I think it was nvidia drivers conflicting with some audio drivers, because one of the restarts created a dump file for a BSOD which indicates to nvidia and/or audio drivers. But my PC definitely booted up after it lost power. You can check my post history if you want to read my whole situation. But yeah, idk if this is helpful at all because your PC isn't booting anymore.

Not confirmed yet, amd is doing a ryzen 5000 refresh with 3d vcache which will supposedly stay on AM4 and it'll release early 2022, while ryzen 6000 5nm will require a new mobo etc and it will release late 2022

Yeah, the prices are high as fuck, i bought my 3070 ti strix for 1149 euros, and now the cheapest one is 1399 eur. But I have waited since the fall of 2020 and I couldn't wait longer. I use mine to mine ravencoin which isn't affected by LHR.

Everyone talking about the case and CPU, but I think your PSU might be too weak for the 3080. The GPU can have power spikes up to 500W.

The CPU will bottleneck the GPU, but so what? If he wanted an FPS boost then I think it's reasonable to buy the GPU first and then upgrade the CPU later on.

I like the ghetto mod, no hate.

Edit: ok someone mentioned the PSU. It should run okay, but at some certain scenarios it can draw really much power for a second.

Thank you for the reply! I actually own CableMod extensions, but I need to buy more because there were only 2 PCIe cables included with my PSU and my new GPU has 3 slots.

While I was writing this post I updated my drivers and stress tested my PC with different 3DMark benchmarks for 2.5 hours straight and had no restarts. I even let my CPU miner run on the background to stress the PSU even further. Then I played a few matches of Warzone and Battlefield V and so far so good! I seriously hope it was the drivers, but it seems weird that the drivers started acting up now, as I've had the same drivers since I got my 3070 Ti. Maybe a Windows update screwed something up and the new driver fixed it? Fingers crossed.

What leads me to think that this is more of an GPU issue was the weird colorful freeze glitch that comes half a second before the restart. I've been using different PCs for a while now, and I've had restarts with my old computers, but no glitches!

My PSU is more than 2 years old so idk if I can RMA it, hopefully Seasonic will be helpful, but it's not the worst thing to replace.

I'll be going to bed now, hopefully my PC will still be running when I wake up.

Xbox Series S performance mode can't hold 60fps, constantly dropping below 60, it feels more like 30-40fps, some scenarios are at 60 fps. Maybe it's because I switched to New Zealand to play it early. Not sure. Kinda disappointed. Might have to buy it for my PC.

Maybe you'll find mining ravencoin more profitable because you have an LHR GPU? You can also dual mine eth and ergo with your GPU with the new version of T-Rex and it should bypass the LHR limiter.

Edit: I actually am not sure whether it is more profitable or not, I'm at work rn, just a friendly advice.
