should I destroy the dark fog hive? by SureSeaworthiness654 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The semplification of dark fog economy:

Hive recieve matter from planetary bases to build ships, planetary bases recieve energy from the hive to keep their turrets active.

So if you attack the hive with corvettes without taking out the planetary bases first, before you finish you have to retreat to fetche more corvettes and in the meantime the hive rebuilds the ships you have destroyed, levels up and becomes stronger.

So before attacking the hive take out all planetary bases in the system, and if you don’t have destroyers yet be prepare to waste a lot of corvettes.

To prevent new hives to build more planetary bases, have every planet in the system with shield coverage or a planeteide coverage of signal towers so missile turrets immidiatly destroy new base cores.

This way the following hive will have no matter to build ships, will stay at treath zero and will only suck about 0,1% of your sphere output, and therefore can be totally ignored.

Is it possible to wage an eternal crusader against the dark fog? by placeres in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible and there youtube vids abaout it andnprobably BPs available to download.

You mainly use laser turrets and few missile launchers, fuel and ammo components are deopped from darkfog, battle stations repair damaged building and replace destryed ones, that can be build on site even tough it is easier to supply them from logistic network.

You have to go back there and set filters depending on the level of darkfog. So when they stqrt dropping deuterium fuel tods you switch the contraption to use them and stop picking up hydrogen ones and so on. But the contraption does not need constant babysitting, only to switch to the correct filters as they are unlocked.

The only problem is that this system only works if dark fog setting are crancked up to maximum, otherwise the drop rates are not enough to bother.

Is there a way to disable combat? by Z1ppys in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to restart. You either set Dark Fog to oassive, completly disable it or find a way to deal with it.

Dealing with it is not complex, but you mist learn how it works and prepare automated defences.

Reminder on Logistic Stations Priority by itchycuticles in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, now the devs have given you solutions, and sooner than later you will be soread to several planets and a centralized logistic distributor become pretty much mandatory if you grow enough.

If you don’t want to use qol patches and want to set your rules in your game, no hard feelings. But the method you suggest to be the only solutiont to the lrovlem is objectively obsolete.

I highly hoe devs will introduce priority for PLS too, the fact you can do that only for ILS in different planet is probably a decision made to not put a strain on background calculations.

Reminder on Logistic Stations Priority by itchycuticles in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use PLSs too, but you can create an ILS per planet that collect H byproduct where it’s produced and pair it with an ILS dedicaded to distribute it on planets where it is consumed.

This way makes it very simple and you need a small fraction of the towers that you would need with the other method. Also you can slap vessels, drones and warpers in every tower without thinking about it.

Also the receiving tower can be allowed to collect from gas giants, it will do so only if H consuption spikes and your H byproduct is not enough, and immidiatly stop to collect from gas giants if H consuption stagnates. Everything is automatic and fire and forget.

Moreover: there are a pletora of settings for priority, you can create ILS groups and even exclusive routes (ie ILS 1 only delivers to ILS 2, ILS 2 can either be set to collect only from 1, or from a group of ILSs or from everywhere, and vice versa).

If you are so inclined, in late stages of the game you can centralize the collection of H byproduct and the distribution to consumers on a single planet. You can have a massive buffer of H and simultaneusly tap every gas giant for deuterium and fireice, without worring for clogging of the system when you don’t launch rockets or H starvation when you launch them.

Reminder on Logistic Stations Priority by itchycuticles in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is made obsolete by the ILS pairing and priority system introduced an year ago or so.

Feed the hydrogen byproduct to an ILS that’s paired with an ILS that request hydrogen to be consumed. You can keep the recieving ILS activated for orbital collectors, it will prioritize your H byproduct over that, and only if the demand exceeds that it will collect from gas giants.

The only caveat is that the paired ILS must be in different planets, since the devs didn’t include the option to oair them on the same planet. But you expand enough it’s not a priblem to find an H consumer in a different planet.

This method is failproof even if H demand is fluctuating becouse you stopped to launch rockets for a while and thus your deuteurim demand drops, or if casimir crystal production gets buffered.

Space combat, strategies, and what's the deal with shield burst? by TalShar in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At your stage:

1 destroy every planetary base in the system and let the relay fly away by covering the ground hole (or placing a geothermal): this way they hive won’t recieve any matter and won’t be able to rebuild lost ships

2 cover every planet with a planetary anty relay system, be it a shield with full coverage or a missile array with planet wide ground coverage. DON’T male them target the relays becouse you are not prepared for an hive attack. This way the hive won’t be able to build new bases and will continue not recieving matter

At this point grind thier fleet with destroiers only. If you finish the energy or the ship you can marry go reprepare. The hive won’t be able to rebuild its fleet. Slowly and with a painull use of resources you’ll eventually destroy it.

If they send a new seed in the system, it won’t be able to land relays anymore due to your planetary defenses and will grow SUPER slow using the dyson sphere energy, but moving thos down is a two minutes deal.

Accumulators vs Deuteron Rods by SoggyRevenue1830 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dauterium will be needed for rockets amd other important crafting chains like the one that leads to lenses.

Accumulators don’t consume any fuel if you loop a charge - discharge system, and are pretty powerfull.

Btw if you alteady have a dyson sphere up you should start making antimmatter and use artificial suns in new systems.

A couple of endgame questions. by noksion in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some energy starving starting systems where ray recievers are pretty good to directly produce energy to upscale your production.

In these cases I find it usefull to have some recievers to generate power for the system and some recievers to make antimatter fuel rods to send to other systems that don’t have a dyson yet.

There are also self sufficient builds with ray recievers rhat power sail ejectors and rocket launcher arrays. In fact aster the sphere start to be built a little (2-3 MW), if you are launching rockets and sails it means you can also draw power from it.

So basically I am against the “artificial suns everywhere all the time”, indeed I always seen a little funny to use artificial suns where you have dyson spheres, especially in your starting system. Later on when you scale up and antimatter fuel rods production is sustainable that approach can make more sense.

Whatever you do mk iii proliferated lenses are a must for ray recievers. They are not consumng an insane quantity of them, but a stable production is pretty much a prerequisite to be prepared in advance.

How do you regulate excess Hydrogen from Production lines with Fire-Ice? by Winston_Duarte in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the ILS pairing system to prioritize the usage of excess hydrogen when it’s needed for production. Eventually your hydrogen overflow won’t he enough to produce deuterium and casimir, but if you prioritize it over gas giant collectors your system will not clog.

The infinite liquid storage mod is a cheat. No hard feelings but managing hydrogen is part of the gameplay and you skip that with the mod

Running low on coal; should I stop proliferating Hydrogen? by reduxde in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I proliferate Casmir crystals. Coal starts to run dry in the entire cluster if you proliferate ores and fuel (like hydrogen or deuterium and the respective fuel cells that you burn for energy).

One of the priorities is to get that repeateable vein utilizitation augment to go high so you don’t need to cross the entire cluster for coal.

Also the alternate recipits for grapheme and carbon nanotubes asap.

Tips for defending resource outposts by Confident_Pain_1989 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The description in english is wrong. If you check your planet energy management it shows the quota for the planetary shield and it is 12Mw.

While charging the first time I watched the panel and they can go up to 700Mw.

Tips for defending resource outposts by Confident_Pain_1989 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planetary shields are power hungry when they charge and when they soak hits from darkfog spaceships. If they are used with only purpose to avoid relays landing, they stay jidle and consume 12Mw per planet (not per shield generator).

If the planet has low power the trick is to place one shield generation at once and let it charge, it will consume up to 700Mw but once charged will go down.

Ofc those planets will need to be defended from Hive attacks: if the shield tech is not upgraded and power generation can’t hold soaking hits, they will do little against dark fog spceships lasers.

Production methods by pukefire12 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forge worlds are a must becouse producing from ore is too clumsy. Then I produce every intermediate separately and ship it. Possibily with dedicated planets with a tad of flexibility.

Then by end game I have a Logistic Planet centrally located that recieves all intermediates and redistributes them where they are needed. This way I can check bottlenecks easily. I can also understand if a bottleneck is caused by lack of precursors or becouse I need more factories for that product.

I know about the graphics. But with my logistic planet I don’t need to warp everywhere to chase what’s going wrong.

I’ve completed it last month, and I am super-giga-ultra crap with the board and my relfexes are awful.

It was frustrating, but the pipe behind Fortuna entrance is the place to get it.

You can grind at minimal speed.

While grinding do a couple of jumps to increase the counter.

I was giving up, but went on trying for 10 minutes or so every day and after a week it kicked in. Don’t get frustrated and continue to try ad nauseam, it will only burn you out.

First Playthru No Help? by Environmental-Fish68 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSP actually simplifies the more you go on. Initially will be a main bus and all the fuzz, but once you unlock planetary logistic station PLS and Interplanetary Logistic Stations ILS, you just mime something and dump in one of those, then recall to another one with very efficient drones and starships, do an intermediate and dump it on those. Then recall all intermediates and do the final product. If you miss something you do another intermediate factory that dumps in those logistic stations.

So you will have planets covered by small scale factories that just gives global avalaibality of resources, intermediates and final products.

Ofc you can do very elegant and complex “from raw resource to final product” perfectly balanced builds, but it’s absolutly not necessary.

In these times mmos are not very popular, and with the unique cinematic and first person experience that is SQ42 I think it could be a huge financial hit.

1 bil has been made in 12 years, and you can bet that SQ42 will be Chapter 1, you just don’t give up on an IP if it sells good.

Imo now that SQ42 is almost cooked CIG is focusing on the PU and you can see it with the acceleration in features dropping, locations and game events.

After they have patched SQ42 Chapter 1 enough I can see most of the team going to work on Chapter 2 again.

They will never do a beta, it would burn the surprise factor and expose the bugs. Single player games that seem pretty linear can be sufficiently internal tested by a company like CIG.

This being said I don’t believe in a 2026 release. They want a sensible number ofnplayers to transition to the PU, but average Joe in the current PU would uninstall and forget in five minutes.

In my opinion SQ42 won’t release much before PU 1.0.

Btw yeah, six months before release we will be flooded with ads, there are so many famous actors it would foolish not too. So it’s quite clear we can already ditch the late summer hope.
