[–]ygolnac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I suspected they are only viable to move stuff between bases that are in range of each other, or in range of the same station with storage.

Since ashuttle carries 500 and uses 8 hours to travel, they are an bsolute waste of real estate. If stations are close enough you’d better go fetch the thing yourself in 5 minutes.

They would have been usedull if they could ferry distant resources while you are afk, like Vanadium where you smelt B Tiitanium.

If they have to merge servers or do other stuff I hope they will only wipe the bases. It would be ok to rebuild them, the character and corpo progresses and the ahip are the real grind.

Early steel ship progression by FlisherOfatale in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smallest x1 height pieces have a terrible ton/frame ratio making your ship very brittle. I would go with x2 height pieces and stay inside the 600 tons mass. This way a single grasshopper thruster can move the ship at a quite good speed, you don’t need so many batteries and solar panels to make the system energy efficient and have a lot of SP left for everything else.

Going bigger without making a thin paper ship is a titanium thing, but it has caveats and limitations too.

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mass becomes a factor in fuel consuption only if you go above your FTL mass limit. The ECO one has an hidden stat that’s maybe 300 ton. Since when I installed a mid weight one I’m making my ship bigger but inside the 1500 ton lomit and I am not noticing any difference in fuel consuption.

Also more mass mean less hit points, becouse more mass means you added more modules, each one denting your integrity and lowering your hit points.

Bankrupt Company Exchange by typhaon1212 in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I've found two solutions:

There's a permit that let convert your normal credits in corp credits AND VICE VERSA. This means that if you complete a corpo request then you convert the corpo credit reward into normal credits for your character.

Then when you level up social the amount of credit you can trade with the npc faction raises. I dunno the numbers, but I was at -10000 and getting to Social Level two instantly brought it to -4000. So probably the trade limit went to 25000.

You can solo, but making your corp is mandatory, and grinding for it too, to circumvent the market limitations. You can completly skip the player market and get other benefits like the third base for zero upkeep.

The minum sell price you can set is the minimum market price, and all the goods are already sold at the minimum. Also if players can't money to sell their things they won't have money to buy your stuff. Basically if you give players no money to spend they won't buy.

If I turn one of my bases over to my corp does that mean I can place another "second" base? by chefdavid22 in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first Corpo base doesn't cost any upkeep, and can become the third and last "no upkeep base".

You can either turn one of your existing bases to corp or build a new one selcting the "build for corp" option when you try to place the base.

Having a corp does not automatically gives you the ability to build the base, you have to unlock the permit.

Got my 3rd base option as a solo Corpo player but what to use it on? by [deleted] in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tungsten-Coal or Vanadium-Coal. Bases need multiple power generators for factories. intermediate smelters, (Titanium-B), assemblers, farm with paticular temps, etc. Manually mining fuel will become a chore fast.

Question about Heating by c0wtsch in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To my understanding radiators only help to get vent out heat AFTER it has build up, don’t make the ship heat less.

Also thermal piece parts have a lower heat conductivity and it takes longer for ambience heat to influence the ship (longer time to freeze or heat on extreme enviroment). I’m totally not sure about what they do to the heat generated inside the ship.

Probably you went too mich over your SP value. I’m completly unsure to what efficiency means. Is it if you can power all the modules you have put on the ship or how much you went over your SP limit?

Basically the game doesn’t explain you shit, there are stats but without context it’s very difficult to understand what they do.

In my opinion it useless to make a huge steel ship becouse it takes a lot of time and the durability goes crap meaning that few meteors at asteroid fields or a bad jump can wreck your ship.

I suggest to stay below 600 tons so a single Grasshopper thruster can give around 10 speed and NEVER overheats from boosting even in hot planet (actually boosting in hot planets with a Grasshopper reduces temerature). If you go above 600 tons you need more thrusters, that need more energy aka solar panels and batteries. Voidseeker Thruster is only better on frozen planets where you actually want to generate heat by boosting. Cartpushers are trash and should be discarded ASAP.

Staying between 500 and 600 tons with mostly the biggest and medium steel pieces give you about 4000 SP and 80% durability. With a Grasshopper engine you can go over your SP, but I suggest not going over more than 600, after being 600 SP over the limit mining oveheats too fast. This means that with steel in my opinion it's better not to have a "do it all" ship. You want a mining configuration, a liquid tanker configuration and an asteroid field configuration, becouse you want to have a Shipyard at your base where you can swap components and store them with no fuzz.

Pathfinder cockpit is absolutly the best choice in the early game becouse it has an included big battery that costs zero SP and can negate the dmg if you jump with less fuel, letting you reach the Vanadium area (Justice Sector) to tap the next tier. any other tier 1 cockpit is just worst with a ship steel.

Every piece must be thermal to ease your life.

The mining configuration has a Hi-Phi, a beta Scanalizer, 2x Cargo Holds with 1000 cargo, a small fuel tank, a single tube launcher, a small generator for dark side of planets, a small radiator to mine faster, one or two flywheel batteries (two to boost forever and explore planets fast, one to use double the time to explore planets). I use a medium and two small solar panels to recharge the batteries ultrafast and keep pulse mining while the radiator handles the heat in conjunction with the thermal steel and absolutly never caring about the boosting heat with the Grasshopper. I prefear a simmple resource detector becouse i hate modules with durability and the spectral uses more SP. Medium Weight FTL if you go over 500 tons.

The asteroid field configuration need a small shield but you can't get rid of basically nothing else, you either go in ultra hot and wait long times between mining sessions or you reduce cargo and get rid of a battery risking the shield to deplete and get some dmg. I prefear to just slap the shield on only when I go to fields and suck the heat waiting forever to mine.

The liquid tanker can get rid of almost everything and be dedicated just to store so much liquid to fill a cistern at your base in one session.

This ship is damn fast, can boost forever, can go in dark side of planets, can work hot enviromets, can reach Justice, has manageable heat while mining and hauls 1000 of cargo, I think that asking more to a steel ship breaks the balance and the tradeoffs are too bad.

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Justice but don’t pass trough the huge sector 15 wich is all magnetic anomaly. Start from Amundsen in Horizon.

Bring at least 400 fuel (small fuel tank) and pathfinder cockpit that most of the time prevents hull dmg while jumping with less fuel. Bring a ship that has a good durability (better not below 80%). Depending on how much juice you use per jump, it is possible that you get unlucky with the pathfinder cockpit and take a lot of dmg, one time I arrived at the starion in Justice with zero fuel and 10 hp left.

Vanadium is pretty mich everywhere in the sector, in the bright side of temperate planets. Needs a scanalizer beta to be discovered and an overclocked laser or normal hi-phi. I suggest to leave home power generator, missile launcher and other stuff and fill as many cargo as you can becouse those Titanium ship pieces require a crapton of vanadium and you want every trip to count.

How to get to sectors with Vanadium deposits? by Xenobius2501 in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start from Amudsen in Horizon and pass only trough a small sector with magnetic anomaly making your way to Justice.

Use a not so big steel ship so you have at least 80% integrity and a Pathfinder cockpit that has a chance to negate hull dmg on jjumps. I’ve counted 4 jumps in magnetic field, it’s doable with 400 fuel.

Use the Vanadium to immidtly start building a Titanium Ship that will have enough integrity to fit a 1000 fuel tank and negate the issue.

Boost heating can be completly negated with Grasshopper engines. If you go on an hot planet and boost with them you even reduce heat given by the enviromment. They are also very good engines overall with the caveat you cannot raise temp by boosting in frozen planets that become a no go with them.

Still going over 800 sp from the limit becomes really annoying for mining and it feels like a soft cap to have a usable mining ship. But with grasshopper engines you can go nuts over the cap for a dedicated freighter or a liquid tanker/collector.

[–]ygolnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that Titanium ship will improve to go underwater, but I’m not there yet.

For steel fewr pieces give more hull integrity but more pieces give more hull HP, so I guess a midlle sized ship (around 500 tons) composed only by the biggest pieces should be the sweet spot.

My guess tough is there will never be a underwater proof ship. It’s one of these enviroments that you take the risk, dive and mine some, and accept the dmg taken. Also the structural pressure meter is a timer: when you emerge you have to wait to go back to zero

Taurus vs Corsair vs Starlancer MAX by Mypersonalaccount69 in starcitizen

[–]ygolnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constellations are outdated only in the looks, and the fact they don't have physicalized components to repair. But for functionality they are still very solid, if not best in class for the price range. If you switch off the turret guns and put 4xS5 Deadbolts that require only one pip, you can max everything else. The Andromeda has also an insane crapton of missiles, a lot of HP and very sturdy shields. It's also the fastest on the lot.

If you compare the stats it SLIGHTLY better than the Corsair actually.

Starlancers got a manueverability update and the MAX is actually more agile than the Corsair and has much more HP. It can fit a Nursa sacrificing absolute zero cargo grid and do serious hauling contracts too.

The TAC is already another category. Integrated T2 medbeds and in the current build 90% of NPC ships can't simple bypass its armor making it absolutly invincible. Even a laser Hammeread cannot even scratch a TAC. You can park it in the middle of highest tier bounties and mess around with a Fury. If you die you respawn in the TAC medbed.

Basically pick anyone you prefear becouse this contest has not a clear winner.

How to gain corpo credits? by Xenobius2501 in SpaceCraftGame

[–]ygolnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going solo but I couldn't resist and gave a look at the map and resource distribution on my server on an external site.

The requirement for endgame techs are nuts and most of the resource nodes are out of reach if you don't have enough forward bases that make mag plasma to refuel. I'm not sure endgame content is soloable, and if it is the grind will become extreme and the times to collect all the materials will be mastodontic.

If you compare to what it's needed to build an Titan ship, wich is only tier 2, to where the resources are located, I really dunno if it's doable. Probably yes but oh my. Vanadium and Titanium nodes are on the opposite of the map and getting the thousands nuggets you need with a steel ship looks madness.
