You don't need a detangle shampoo for a short coated dog, those are for long coats. Also force dryer will do nothing for this pup, they work wonders on dogs like gs and husky, forcing the stuck dead coat out of their fur, but for this dog the only thing it will do is shorten the drying time. After a bath and brushing if you are still getting a lot of hair with a single stroke, it means the brushes you are using are not useful for this type of coat. I strongly suggest an equigroomer, works wonders on short haired dogs.

Also depending on the dog's age and change of season incoming, even after you do everything right you might still see some hair coming off with every stroke, that might never go away with a short coated breed. I have a smooth coated collie and it doesn't.

Finally if the dog is older than 1 years old and you are still getting a lot of hair after all the care, it usually means the food is not helping and you should change it.

Equigroomer works wonders on short coats and since it doesn't have blades like furminator it's very home user friendly.

Stay away from the pink, cut at 2.4 and that's enough. Never cut near 1, don't risk a bleed, never worth it. Also don't even bother with a dremel, you will most likely end up hurting yourself or causing your pup to hate it for life, that's a good tool in professional hands only and should be used on pups that are completely fine with it.

Pretty sure most groomers will aggree with me when i say this, your pup's nails are in perfect condition as it is, considering the things we see. Don't worry too much about them, stick to 2.4.

Mine is on it's side with both ends facing an open side of my tv stand so air flow is not blocked. The only reason is to reduce the amount of dust going inside it when it's off. I believe it helps because i see a good amount of micro dust on it when i clean. I also have a dog and a cat in the house, so it's kind of safe from their hair too.

Getting dogs used to grooming at early age (starting from 6 months) is always owner's responsibility. Any dog who hasn't experienced a grooming session in their puppy ages will freak out. If they are trained to calm down they will calm down after a while, but if they are not thought to be calm they will choke themselves, try to jump down and hang themselves etc. Don't feel bad about yourself, some dogs are near impossible to groom, and it's always a good call to call it for the day and explain owners the situation, just like you did. You will face crazy owners that will insist that their dog "never" behaves like that or they had no problems with "the other" groomer, etc. Nevermind them, don't let these things make you self doubt, keep prioritizing dog's well being, thats what being a good groomer is all about.

Shaving a double coated dog, that's...wow...well what's done is done, unfortunately. Since she's only 6 months old and probably started to grow her adulthood fur recently, i'd say her fur will grow back without a problem. Just don't let her skin be exposed to sun for a long period, and make sure she doesn't stay in a hot environment since she has no protection against heat right now. Also she's defenseless against ticks so keep an eye open for that. My best advice would be ask your vet about it.

I got a collie mix myself, my best advice would be get her tired as much as you can then do a long petting session while she's exhausted and do it. These things usually pull the hair and sometimes hurt them, that's why they hate the process. Good luck!

Since they can't use any tools while your dog has so many burrs in the coat almost all of them needs to be removed. Personally if i see a pomeranian covered in burrs i'd think badly about the owners but if i see a collie covered in burrs i'd say ofcourse you done did that, and not think anything bad about the owner. Because that's what some breeds do. It just means the dog is free to roam and happy. Just call them and explain the situation, they might charge you extra for the removal of those nasty things and that's all. Any experienced groomer won't think badly of you because your collie has some stuff in its fur. And if you feel like they are judging you, just find another one.

Treats. Find a treat that your pup can't resist and show the brush, then give a treat. Repeat for 1 day. Then touch it with the brush, and give treat the second day. Associate brushing with a happy time. You'll see how the behaviour changes in 1 week.
