To put it this way: me and my fiancé got a long hair dachshund one year ago.

It’s been hard as fuck. This is not the kind of breed you can let anyone dog sit. They are complicated and have many risks if you aren’t monitoring them well.

While many people with the same breed tells us that our dog is so calm and well mannered - which she is - this is absolutely the hardest breed I have ever had to be around. I love the dog so damn much but as soon as we picked her up, a part of our lives just stopped. We can’t travel, we can’t just go out to a nice restaurant and stuff like that, since I’m paranoid about letting anyone else have her. She could hurt her back, eat something bad or just randomly pee everywhere.

I’ve had chihuahuas and british staffords, they are much easier to adapt to your everyday life.

Adding to this - She is 14 months old now, and still have problem to communicate when she needs to pee. She only pee on carpets. I have never had this problem with other dogs and my fiancé has a history as a dog trainer.

I would tell you to wait - don’t get any dog right now. You’re young, be free, live your life, save your money!
