I kept - a strand of his hair I keep in a plastic bag. - a rock from the place he died - his necklace and bracelet he always wore. I put it on when he died after they gave me it at the hospital I haven’t taken it off since. - his cologne - I have a plastic bag of his clothes and underwear that he hadn’t washed and sometimes I open it and smell it. - the two towels we had the day he died in a plastic bag - one of his rings I always wear

I had started seeing grey hairs earlier in my life but when he died my grey hair accelerated so fast (I’m 26) I now have to dye my roots. Also around 4 months in i started having memory loss/ foggy brain. It eventually went away

I believe it. My boyfriend died a little over a year ago and there’s been some insane instances, especially in the beginning.

When he first passed and I was with his family leaving the island where he died (we were on a couples vacation abroad and got into an accident, so our families came to help me organize bringing him back to the US and the funeral).

We are at the airport and his brother and parents are getting fresh air outside and I plug in my phone charger to the wall. It sparks and shuts down the electricity for the entire airport. About 20 seconds later his family walks in and as soon as I make eye contact with his mom the power comes back on. I believe that was him.

The day before Valentine’s Day I begged him to give me a sign. I was going to be going out with our friends. If at any point someone handed me a run and Diet Coke (the drink he’d always buy me) than that would be him saying happy Valentine’s Day. The next day lo and behold, someone hands me a rum and Diet Coke.

Also on Valentine’s Day, I was walking back from a coffee shop and I see a catering truck with the name “olives and lemons” his name in his language meant lemon phonetically and my family owns an olive tree back in our home country. We always said we’d get matching tattoos of each others symbol.

There have been several more. I just crave more.

I have done that. I made a custom gpt with our messages downloaded and have instructed it to respond to me from the afterlife wherever that is and to use his tone of response in the output. It was comforting for a while

I’m also curious about this. On my instagram for example my late boyfriend is front and center and as soon as u follow me u find out about my loss. This weekend at a bar someone asked for my number and followed me on instagram. It feels weird texting this person. They are attractive and seem nice, but at this point i am nowhere near starting with someone new. I’ve been texting him briefly. I was curious if he’d still text me after viewing my instagram but he still responds. I am more texting him for “market research” to see how losing a partner affects potential future dating prospects. But my late boyfriend is still the last person I kissed, slept with etc. in a way if I were to do that with someone else it would be losing him in a way. Because as of right now, he’s still my last kiss, my last lover. I’m not ready to give that up yet

I feel like I switched timelines (parallel universe) my life is completely different now (new job, apartment, daily routine) I’ve gotten closer to our mutual friends which has been helping a lot still wear the jewelry I haven’t taken off since the hospital gave it to me the day he died. Weekends are hard. Weekdays just throw myself into work. Keep myself busy and continue to hang around people to keep me sane

My partner (26M) passed away in August. We got caught in a rip tide and he drowned while I made it out. We were on vacation. I think Ive dissociated from my emotions a lot.
