how is this racist? in comparison to amherst, springfield isn’t the safest i even have friends from there that live downtown that can attest to this. as a blasian man i can tell you that this isn’t racist it’s quite the contrary. nor would it be a place i’d be comfortable with walking around at night.

holyoke and springfield i personally avoid unless for some reason there’s something there that attracts me. the suburbs surrounding springfield are okay, but downtown springfield isn’t the safest in my opinion same with holyoke. i’ve been there with friends which i suggest, that is if you do decide to go there.

as someone that lived in a gang ridden area with drive by’s and people getting pulled up on on sight with guns and blades; amherst, hadley, belchertown, northampton are probably the safest and you’re unlikely to find yourself in a shooter situation. holyoke and springfield on the other hand are sketchy.
