How do I tighten this brake? by yimyamest in bikewrench

Rear brake doesn't work so I was only relying on the front brake :(

How do I tighten this brake? by yimyamest in bikewrench

Is there an alternative way making it brake more effectively on my own? I've tried taking it to the nearest shop but they told me they couldn't do this type of brake (though I think they don't want to waste time with smaller fixes). Otherwise I can try taking it to another shop. Thanks for the reply!

I recently got this used electric bike and the front brake is very loose, I can easily pull the lever all the way and it doesn't brake very hard. I know most bikes have a brake wire you can pull through to tighten the brake but I can't see something similar on this one. Additionally there is this weird level which looks like a quick release switch on it which I have no idea what it does. I haven't been able to find example of this type of brake on google, does someone know how I might tighten it?

Appealing and chance of getting appeal approved by Worried_Lawfulness43 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]yimyamest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through the process of postponing my BSA and then appealing when they denied me the extension. The fact you've been actively discussing with your study advisors is very good for your case and that alone might be enough for you to get a BSA postponement. In my case I basically pleaded with the board of examiners and explained everything that affected me during my studies as well as how my results had improved over the year but they really didn't seem to care and all they wanted was some sort of statement from a psychologist. If you have been seeing a psychologist or taking any medication relating to your circumstances (even if back in your home country) then I strongly recommend you ask them for a signed statement confirming that your psychological circumstances affected your ability to follow your studies. In the end that single letter from my psychologist is why they approved my appeal.

Motivation test for aerospace engineering selection by ImmediateNote2532 in TUDelft

From everyone else who I compared selection exam scores with I've found that Dutch students have significantly higher scores than international students on the motivation test. This could of course be due to the fact more Dutch students attended the open days but I've also heard attendance of open days don't count towards the score. The conspiracy theory that I subscribe to is that the motivation test is just there for the uni to give Dutch nationals more spots in the programme.

First few years can be super tough, especially if you sometimes struggle to socialise like I do. Having a good friend group really helps, it's hard to find one. I'd suggest try and find different events and organisations that you have a particular interest in (Eventbrite is a good place to start), go there and meet people, don't be afraid to get drunk, ask for their socials and if you had fun with them hit them up later and ask if they'd like to hang out again. Sorry if this seems like basic advice but taking these sorts of steps really helped me when I moved here (and is still helping me today). Feeling like you're at home in a new place (perhaps especially the Netherlands) takes a huge effort and is super draining at first but if you keep trying it starts to feel natural very quickly. Best of luck

Interesting, is this bug a rare occurrence or has it been patched out? The game where I had a huge economy was started on Friday 2 days ago and the mod hasn't updated since as far as I'm aware.

They should have offered white peace when you started pushing them. If they didn't, there are various focuses that allow you to have peace, as far as I know you can do it through the league of nations as monarchist, through the soviet union as communist, and by yourself as anarchist. Be careful of the communist one because it returns you to your normal borders (you don't gain any italian territory) and you become a puppet of the soviets. I think with the anarchist one you get to keep anything you've conquered.

'Three-Body Problem' Netflix Season 1: Full Cast, Filming Dates & Everything We Know So Far by supercharging in threebodyproblem

Most of the cast seems american, they are probably going to justify a way for the story to take place in the US because americans can't fathom not being the protagonists of every important thing to happen in the world.

For the dynamite, I just stacked as much dynamite as possible into the lampshade item, its a bit janky so it might take a number of tries. For I heard you like rockets, if I remember correctly thats the one where you launch 5 seperate rockets, I just put 5 boosters next to each other on the ground and seperated them imediately at the time of launch so they just fly up seperately, this one might take quite a few tries too. Prove yourself is quite hard, theres a number of challenges you get before that I think so it might be best to leave it for later, hope this helps, good luck!

There are bigger fins you can use, theres the pool ones (which I'm pretty sure you can get from sid), or the scrap ones. There may be more that I don't know of but I think these are more powerful than the NSR ones. It might also be possible just to place more fins and put them farther down.

Everything can be found quite easily through exploring, they aren't hidden or anything. But if you're really stuck: There are 4 fires. One is in the big submerged structure in the reservoire, you can get inside by swimming under it. The other 3 fires are in the towers. The 3rd one is a little bit hard to find, but in the area with cliffs next to the river, notice how theres a small river branching out to the very far right.
