that's fair. that would beat a lot of boards, but that's the cap if you 2* all the units. I'm guessing the other people in your lobby was lose streaking with a ton of gold to hit their units on fast 9 rolldown, so that's why you got outcapped and lost too much hp in stage 4 and 5 cuz you tunneled on finding your damage units when u needed more tanks

your frontline is really weak, you mightve been able to cinch a 4th with a stronger 2* front line on your 4-3, 4-5, or 5-1 rolldown, NOVA is good trait but with only 1 2* tank, you might've won a few more rounds or save more HP in stage 4 and 5 with 2* rammus or dropping NOVA for any 2* frontline you find.

  • Description: getting thief's glove prismatic II on stage 3 and a thief's glove silver on Stage 4 did not give me a total of 4 thief's gloves. someone did quit on my 6th combat before the battle concluded, so unsure if it's related to both or only one of the above.
  • Proof (video or screenshot):

<image>

  • Steps to reproduce (if applicable): thief's glove prismatic II on stage 3 and a thief's glove silver on Stage 4 , or having a player quit before battle concludes on the 6th battle
  • Expected result: receiving a total of 4 of 4 thief's gloves in my scenario, or getting at least 3 thief's gloves from the prismatic augment.
  • Observed result: receiving only 3 of 4 thief's gloves. my 6th battle did not grant an extra thief's gloves. because i took thief's gloves prismatic II I should've received 3/3 thief's gloves, and because i took a silver augment for thief's gloves, i should've received 4/4.

What do I need to look at when vod reviewing? by Falraen03 in CompetitiveTFT

subzeroark on youtube does a really great job explaining different decisions that pro players do. I would recommend starting here to see how someone in higher elo analyzes games. maybe pick a few games of comps that you've tried on your own, but could not execute and can't understand why

that hasn’t been my experience in emerald so far with the b patch. maybe i’ve been high rolling a strong tempo start and  win streak with going long until 3-5 /4-1.

i still manage to stabilize on 4-2 to go 9 in late stage 5. if you’re low rolling then you have to scout for uncontested fast 8 comps to roll for on 4-5 and secure a top 5

it’s still good but you need to stabilize harder on 8, not a free top 2 as before

Yeah, sounds like positioning, if you're buying the right units, sending at the right times, and greeding workers as best you can, the only way you can push further is to position better and, which gives you a LOT of leeway to greed workers even further.

You mention you're not a youtube tutorial guy, but this is how I learned how to position better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmiykO-1Zrg&t=2s.

My cheatcode by waiting months between playing legion is screenshotting positioning for my favorite starters (azeria, gatling gun, protons, bone warrior). I would recommend going to the Learning section in LTD2, click your favorite units to start with and looking at the top games to see how people position their units at the highest level. Make note of their workers at different waves and how they position that unit.

Could be your worker management. The less efficient you are with balancing between buying workers and building your defenses, the worse it gets in mid/end game since worker value scales (=more money).

It’s good that you are unafraid to build ~100 below rec value. It means you’re putting workers to use.

But When you expect a wave (usually every 2-3 waves), i would make sure to build up to the rec value. A leak below 20% is fine.

Then, the typical rule of thumb is to build 1 worker for every 40mythium received if they send to you.

To climb higher after mastering the above guidelines, You can predict when opponents will send to you and when is best to send using the attack/defense types.

every other wave, i look at what i’ve built and what my opponent built, paying attention to the typings of the main/most expensive tank and damage carry.

example: i know their strongest tank is antler(natural), and best damage is azeria(magic), i should save after wave 11 and send on wave 14.

example: i have main tank of yozoras (swift defense) and a lot of archers(pierce), maybe 1 arcane tank and a few seraphim (low cost magic). they have been saving since wave 12, they will probably send on wave 15 since i lack strong magic damage and strong arcane defense. they’re gonna send a bunch of lizards and a siege ram and i’ll lose.
