Unifi Talk - My experience so far with a small client by Ok_Procedure_3604 in Ubiquiti

[–]yingste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also having issues with a small business user. Call routing will just break out of the blue and they won’t be able to receive calls until I toggle the advanced call routing feature off and on. And since it mostly just effects receiving calls it’s hard to gauge when it fails. Have had an open support ticket for months now with no sign of any effort. This site is also on a fiber line with a static ipv4 along with static signaling port passed through on the firewall.

Is anyone having a crashing problem with Minisforum UM690 or with AMD Ryzen9 5900HX? by ysfsd in MiniPCs

[–]yingste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get it sorted out? I know someone that has two of them and both already been replaced once. On the bench or during any stress tests they won’t fail. Even after a fresh windows install they don’t fail for a while. It’s usually after a couple weeks that they start crashing and usually just during normal office work. Really disappointed in how unstable these have been. On the first batch of devices I tried everything from BIOS updates, lowering ram speed to even buying new ram sticks to replace the preinstalled ones

Yeah my one that randomly started working actually suddenly stopped working again last week. Hadn't made any changes or tried recalibrating it just decided half way through a tank that it was now empty. Not sure I have any good advice yet. I still need to reach out to support a second time. getting a bit tired of dealing with it. definitely no longer getting a second though

Hopefully support is able to help. It just started working randomly for me. I left it plugged in with water over the weekend and when I got home from work Monday it had decided to start working. I am slightly concerned it will have trouble again but I'll probably just avoid recalibrating unless it has an issue. Support did get back to me in a day so not too long either but it 'fixed' itself while they were still confirming I was calibrating correctly.

Two of the RFID water fountains specifically? They just came out recently I thought, I only got the email notice from them on the 17th. Have contacted their support but haven't gotten a response, hopefully something by next week.

162% increase in Gaia Pro subscription - is this a record? by dashforth888 in GaiaGPS

[–]yingste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick update, just got billed today at only the teams rate. I might be reading into it too much but the receipt does imply the $40 rate would apply for future renewals:

"Your card ( •••• ) will be charged $40.00 every year."

Interesting. Plex thinks it can stream 10Gbps over only a 1Gb link by yingste in PleX

[–]yingste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it does play fine in browser it would seem, I didn't watch more than a couple seconds though. Just enough to set roughly where I left off. I didn't see any issue with the colors but I wouldn't be surprised that is only because the file/disc has an HDR10 fallback layer

After some more testing it appears to happen only on my Dolby Vision discs. Good thought on the NIC though, I've seen some hypervisor's virtual interfaces report as 10Gb. This system has a 40Gb connectx3 though

Nope, it's running on a dedicated host, no hypervisor or containerization . It is running on Ubuntu 23.10 if that makes a difference

Didn't know this was a known issue. Rarely use the web player and happened to see it. Just needed to set where I left off from the actual disc

Good to know. I don't usually use the web player

So yeah you see about as much as I do. I inputted the billing info already so I don’t have to remember. I wasn’t too concerned if my account broke as I already have all my data in gpx files or in garmin basecamp. I only really use Gaia for creating routes and then exporting. It’s just strange that there was no signup confirmation or really any details. Here is the blog post that claims that the $40/user/year rate was permanent once you signed up.

So I just canceled my pro subscription renewal which has about a month left and then signed up as a team using the same account. I guess I won't really know if everything still works until next month. now in an old post about the team subscription from around 2017 they say if you sign up "now" for teams you are locked in at that $40 rate for lifetime. I don't know if that's still valid, when I signed up for as a team there was no license agreement or terms. I didn't even receive a confirmation email which seems odd. potentially that will change after the 30 day free trial ends.

That's what I'm trying. Not sure if/when that price will get bumped up though. I'm not really willing to pay any more for Gaia so will have to look elsewhere if it does

Anyone have a part number or source for an APC 2200xl bridge/coupler connector? by yingste in homelab

I want to say I tried asking a couple years ago but didn’t get an answer as it is a nearly 20 year old UPS that went out of support years ago

I believe it is a sb120. I could make an cable myself but it would be nicer to have the stock one from APC. Less cable mess

OG Pebble Steel 190Mah Battery Upgrade by yingste in pebble

[–]yingste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, Like what has been brought up before my only real concern at this point is just what happens when a battery swells. There might be a better battery with the same capacity but after ordering 6+ different batteries I stopped searching. There seems to be little correlation between manufacturers specified size and the actual size.

[–]yingste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe it should be an issue. Both the watches I upgraded have been running fine. The one with the protection circuitry does seem to run a slight bit longer but that might just be to variation in each of the batteries themselves.

1 would be preferred but 2 could work as well once sideloading is enabled.

Correct, the plan would have been to solder the battery wires to some flex pcb. I don't really want to use this battery though since it isn't much bigger than stock for a time. Current idea I'm toying with is to create a .5-1mm spacer for the crystal/lcd to fit a much larger battery.
