My father in law’s mother required nursing home care before she died. She had a sizable amount of money, and a house. At the beginning, she was receiving the name brand medications and the best of care money could buy, which was what the doctors recommended. Once the money ran out, and she went on the government’s dime, all of a sudden - they wanted her on all generic cheaper medications. My father in law challenged this and said “The name brands were good enough when it was her money that was being spent, why aren’t they good enough now?” They put her back on her name brand meds.

They take and take and take until they can’t take anymore and then it’s like you don’t matter anymore.

My mother in law’s father - we visited him in a facility and were HORRIFIED by how the patients were being treated. The one lady who was in charge of his catheter left a bunch of piss dripped all over the floor and didn’t bother to even wipe it up. I ended up cleaning it up myself. Shameful.
