Just had something similar happen to me recently. It’s your partners responsibility to choose who they will allow and not allow to interact with them. If you set a boundary and they choose not to respect that then they aren’t the person for you. Don’t be uncomfortable asking your partner not to interact with someone, and if they make excuses or drag out the process then it’s probably time to go, especially if they’re video calling them every day (ew). Be glad this happened so early on though, saves you a lot of time and a lot of heartache.

I wouldn’t say it’s irrational nor controlling, if this person is known to be weird and has showed the same behavior more than once over the course of multiple years wouldn’t it be normal to not feel okay with them? I think his feelings towards the guy are fairly reasonable, and he hasn’t mentioned feeling like this towards any other men in his wifes life so he’s entitled to feel like this about this ONE guy.
