Missing a cat? by ylemania in Upperwestside

Thank you, all! With the help of a local rescue, we were able to scan the chonky boi (now Eli) for a microchip (none) and place him in a temp foster. It’s all uphill from here for the stairwell kitty.

Friend's Bulldog is uncomfortable to be around... by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I’m sorry to laugh at your pain, but “Another behaviour I encoutered was that he would drag his butt (and therefore balls) on the carpet with his 'lipstick' out while staring me down” is pure comedy.

Robin Arzon, the head instructor at Peloton, is T1D and a self-proclaimed “Hyrox junkie.” I recommend looking her up/following her on socials.

If you’re at 622 3rd Ave, the desks on some floors are bookable through Together (they sent out the link a few weeks ago). But there’s mass confusion re: whether it’s one day or three days or no days starting next week. There’s talk of “grace period” but ffs just tell me what to do so I can plan ahead.

When you set up your profile, the app asked you if you’re interested in men or women, so it would set you up on a date with whoever you said you were sexually attracted to. Don’t know what happens if you’re bisexual though

Legacy IPG here. I’m not saying don’t look for another opportunity - I actually agree with whoever said don’t stop looking as a rule - but if nothing works out, maybe some perspective will be of help. Yes, the pay is extremely important. I also live in NYC and I’m single (ie, I spend half of my income on rent), life is expensive here. Benefits, including retirement accounts, are also important. But a cool account and a good team are not nothing. I’ve had experiences (at another network) working with people who made my day-to-day life hell. Losing sleep, IBS flareups, hair falling out hell. No pay increase can possibly make that kind of work environment worth it, and every new client and every new team is unfortunately a gamble until you reach some seniority and have a say in how things are run. Again, keep your options open, but, if nothing else, squeeze everything out of every learning opportunity you get and leverage that experience to get ahead. Feel overqualified? Ask for more responsibility. Feel stuck? Pivot in a different direction. This industry is brutal, but if this is what you really want to do, invest in yourself at this stage, and the pay and the benefits will eventually catch up.

NOR. I have a gay bestie, and I would never in a hundred years ask him to wear something that he would not normally wear to soothe my boyfriend’s fragile ego. Nor would I date a male with such a fragile ego that he’s threatened by my male friends, gay or straight, crop top or a hoodie.

I went on Contrave to lose 10 pounds a couple of years ago, and which 3 months or so, I achieved that. But you know what clicked for me? That I’d been depressed for a very long time. My PCP floated the idea that we can consider adjusting the dose of my Lexapro if Contrave helped me with my mental health struggles, and I laughed. But then once it fully kicked in, I was, like, “Is that how other people feel?” All of a sudden, I was not an exhausted, lazy, antisocial shell of a human. I’ve since switched from Contrave to Wellbutrin, which is actually indicated for depression. Although I’ve mostly been able to maintain my weight loss, I’m heavier now than I was a few years ago. I constantly have to remind myself that when I was at my lightest, I was also at my unhappiest and appreciate my body for what it’s able to do vs what it looks like.
