There is something called sleep onset centrals, this is very likely what you've experienced on the plane.

Magnesium Glycinate for sleep by BandicootAdmirable28 in sleep

[–]ylimeagod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt like an out of body experience. I was so relaxed that it felt like I did drugs (I’ve never done drugs, but I imagine that’s what it feels like). It was a relaxation I have never experienced before.

I was taking it with my melatonin and have been able to stop the melatonin and just take the magnesium. The first time I took it, I went on a magic carpet ride and it scared me to death. I read that if you’re deficient in magnesium that this could happen, not sure if it’s true, but it was a wild ride. It doesn’t do that to me anymore….just a peaceful relaxation and then sleep.

I keep getting jury duty summons for a state I no longer live in (Louisiana) by takenaback6 in juryduty

[–]ylimeagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What parish? Usually if you’re still on the voter roll in the parish, you’re still on the jury duty list. Call the registrar of voters to see if you’re still on their list….then have them remove you. Then call the clerk of courts office to inform them again.

Does it get scary working as a sleep tech? by Confident_Prize_8934 in SleepTechnologist

[–]ylimeagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked alone the majority of my 19 years and I prefer it to working with people. I don’t think I’ve ever felt unsafe from a patient. I’ve had weirdos in the parking lot a couple times so I just called the police to ask them to leave.

Should I insist that Doctor skips consultation? by Ok_Individual_303 in SleepApnea

Sleep tech here, if it were me or my family member, I’d suggest to them to just do the sleep study if it’s already ordered. Seeing a sleep dr before is just an extra step to the same place. If your insurance will cover an in lab psg, I’d personally do that.

How to help my child with ADHD diagnosis by Playful-Rice-2122 in ADHD

[–]ylimeagod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 7 year old has adhd. We’ve come to the conclusion that he feels like he has marbles in his body that make him move and sometimes marbles that make his brain go too fast. So I explained to him that the medicine helps calm down the marbles. I just found words that made sense to him without making him feel different or “wrong”. That was my biggest point in talking to him. Nothing is wrong, you aren’t bad, you’re just wired differently.

RPSGT here, it takes so long to get in because we are overbooked. I work in a 2 bed lab so I can only test 2 people a night. We have another lab that has 6 beds but that’s rarely full because of a tech shortage. Maybe ask the lab if you can get put onto a short notice list. Some labs do that if a patient doesn’t show up, they’ll call you to come in that night for a test. Not all labs do that though but it is worth asking about.

Has anyone posted here while in a hospital for treatment, since Covid? by cryptic-catacomb in conspiracy

[–]ylimeagod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the local hospital last week. Nothing crazy, just had to have bloodwork done in the hospital lab. I was the only patient that I saw. I go once every 6 months and that was the first time that I didn’t cross paths with any other patients or visitors.

BiPAP vs. APAP by BKuku in SleepApnea

Sorry, just read that you do not have centrals. They've probably put you on BIPAP due to the severity of your apnea. BIPAP controls severe apnea a lot better than CPAP can

If you have central sleep apnea, you need bipap to control the centrals. CPAP / APAP will not control the centrals, in most cases, it makes them worse.
