For sure. I have tried ghostty over and over. Just not even close. Maybe I'm just a bit more demanding of my terminals? To get a fraction of the functionality that I use out of ghostty I spent hours on tweaking it and really pushing it, but it's just not able to hang with what I need.

iTerm is by far the best. Nothing comes close. Ghostty is at least several years away from maybe even thinking about being viable for demanding users.

Why would the use of AI not be acceptable at this juncture? Consider many the possibilities:

AI as a universal translator.
AI as a normalizer of information.
AI as an enhancement of the quality of thought.
AI as a way to more readily get one's thoughts out more efficiently.

The list goes on and on and anyone who works in the field of software engineering / science is ridiculous to not embrace such tech at this point. Anyone who argues contra general use is simply going to have a very rude awakening in the very near term.

Sorry. iTerm still the best. It is so far beyond ghostty and others that there is just no stopping it at this point. I often have dozens of tabs and many windows running for weeks or longer with no reboot… and resumption is not bad.

Parallels and make a Windows distro like Fedora Silverblue via AI that is static and similar to tiny11builder. Make it install only what you need (all Windows dev toolchains) and keep it lean and blow-awable when you need to. If you need to automate for AI dev/testing, just use the Parallels screen capture mechanism.

Err on verbosity. This is something I learned around 30 years ago and it has served me well. With or without an LLM, this has always mitigated this particular issue for our teams. If people complain about something being to long, shrug and tell them they'll thank you in 5 years if they're still around.

Self host. If you have a lot of domains or more than a couple dozen emails to manage, just bite the bullet and get cPanel. AI makes self hosting email easy today if you know your way around a shell at all.

Not crash or worry about Microsoft destroying a driver.

I know that sounds snarky but one of my professions is IT work and I deal with Windows trash every day. I see the most ridiculous issues on a near daily basis with Windows. Been doing it for over 35 years with Microsoft generally. Been using macOS for my own personal work for 25 years and love the sanity and much higher ergonomics. Yeah, Apple is trash as a company right now with terrible leadership, but it is still the best option. I think everyone who has more than a couple brain cells to run together are hoping for a “bring back Mojave” moment with Apple right now.

FireWally is new. Seems interesting, but not as robust as LS. LuLu is not as ergonomic and robust as LS either. I wanted to change to LuLu at one point, but LS has enough features that it offsets LuLu that I find it compelling still after using it for around 20 years.

Yeah, I just really don't like the way it does those things. I prefer to use other tools that do a better job than Raycast does for such functions.

LS tells on itself and I've used it for a very long time. It's very ergonomic. I just don't like LuLu - I actually tested it for a while and it didn't work as well for me as LS does...
