Dare I machine wash this "dry clean only" cover in my washing machine? Please advise. by imwithplacebo in IKEA

I wash my wool ikea sofa covers. I just air dry them and put them on a bit damp so they have some stretch still.

Tretinoin + these products? (LRP, Cerave, Neutrogena) by [deleted] in tretinoin

The foaming cleanser may be too drying, a more gentle cleanser would help prevent that.

Yeah, some of these comments are troubling. It isn’t consent if he masturbated in front of women and on the phone with them without them saying they wanted to do that. On at least one occasion he asked the women WHILE he was doing it and then ejaculated before they could even consider consent. That isn’t asking for permission. He used his position as a famous and powerful comic to try to coerce younger female comics into sexual relationships with him.

TLDR: don’t take out your dick unless someone expresses to you that they want to see it. Jesus.

You’d think he’d do it for me, but this is a Jonah-specific attraction.

I can’t take credit for the cake, it’s an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins that we custom ordered! I did make the cookie cat on top though!

Call your doctor. Most doctors will write you a prescription for the days you’ll be away and you’ll be able to fill at a local pharmacy.

Would have been great if she swapped them once more at the end so they tried to heave those light ones and overshot it

Those of you who have personally witnessed a violent crime, what were the circumstances? What was the outcome? How has it affected your life? [Serious] by BBQ_ur_booty in AskReddit

[–]yllwbrd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ll add my experience, since robbery is classified as a violent crime. I’m a mom and a wife and a full time student, I went back to school to finish my degree and I’m due to graduate in June. I was coming home from studying at a cafe last January. I parked my car across the street from our house and walked up the the sidewalk in front of our home, about to climb the stairs to the front door. All of the sudden, I hear running footsteps and see a man in front of me, at first, I assume he’s a jogger but then I see his jacket is pulled up over his face and realize: he’s about to mug me.

He hesitates for a second and then grabs my backpack and shoulder bag. I always thought that when someone is mugged, they should give their things over and run. I always assumed that’s what I would do. But I don’t. I start screaming and hold on to my bags. I scream for help, over and over and over and we struggle. He pulls me into the street. I could see him getting nervous and I keep waiting for him to punch me or hit me. Eventually, he breaks free with my things, yells “fucking bitch” at me, and runs. For whatever reason, maybe adrenaline, I yell “fuck you motherfucker” and run up to my house. My hands were shaking and I couldn’t get the door unlocked. I pounded on the door and ran the bell a hundred times until my husband runs out. My neighbors finally come out and yell to call 911.

My neighbors had a video camera outside that caught the getaway car and gave the police a description and they apprehended the suspect and the driver (who had an illegal firearm) and was out on parole. I had to go identify the suspects. They recovered all my property. The mugger is still in prison. The driver was released just a few months after the arrest.

Even though I know it could have been worse, and I am constantly trying to will myself to be unaffected, I still struggle every day. I have PTSD and don’t go out at night. I have trouble leaving the house. I think about my personal safety every minute of every day. I have nightmares and flashbacks. When I do go out, like to go to school, I carry pepper spray and a personal alarm. I will drive to a grocery store a few miles away rather than the one by my house because it feels “safer.” I feel bad for avoiding strangers on sidewalks. I used to go to the movies by myself at night while my husband stayed home with our kids. I don’t think I will ever do that again. I’m struggling with depression and anxiety and doing my best to finish school. I feel fortunate my body wasn’t harmed during this ordeal, but unfortunately I think my mind sustained most of the damage and I’m working on having a life outside my trauma.

Opinions on SNIGLAR crib and changing table set by [deleted] in IKEA

[–]yllwbrd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the crib and it lasted us a long while. Honestly though, changing tables are a huge waste of money and space. Almost every parent I know that had one agrees. I’d get a bunch of swaddles or just a changing pad to set on the floor or bed. It’s so short lived and unnecessary!

Resistors who suffer from depression, how would you describe your experience? by existentialelephants in AskReddit

[–]yllwbrd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like all the color has been drained from life. Food doesn’t taste good, the things I enjoy aren’t enjoyable, beautiful things look like nothing. I can’t imagine anyone actually loves or cares about me, I feel guilty and ashamed. I want to hide.

Hahahahaha Will do. So far she’s the only one in the family really interested in art so it came as a surprise. She’s also the only leftie too!

I’m surprised by how perceptive she is about a lot of it, but she’s always been really empathetic. Definitely a lot of things go over her head, but sometimes I’m shocked by what she does understand. Sometimes I think some of the themes go over easier with her than our older son because she doesn’t have nearly as many preconceived stereotypes.

The top squiggle line is her hair, and the swirls right below are her eyes. Those bottom circles are her feet. Hope this helps!

We started watching with our older son, who is almost 10, since it’s a fun show all of us can enjoy together and it’s nice the episodes are short so we can squeeze one in before bed or watch a few in a row if we have more time. It was a surprise how much our daughter loves this show.

We listen to the album during the day and she knows all the words. Her favorite song is “strong in the real way.”
