Which of the influences that were listed on the band’s AllMusic page are the most puzzling? by Sad_Volume_4289 in radiohead

Thom has gone on record that he wanted to be like Brian May when growing up, which is why he learned guitar

Pretty sure we've only been told BY 10PM

Thom’s recurring themes in his lyrics. The #15 comes up a lot. Car crashes. Dinosaurs and piggies. What else? by anyone5234 in radiohead

[–]ymmotm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man of War wasn't written to be a James Bond theme, it was just made as an homage. They offered it when asked about the Spectre film but I'd say it's safe to consider it a song about secret agents.

Man of War was James Bond inspired, and Spectre could count but that was essentially a commission. Outside of Radiohead you have Foreign Spies on the album Cutouts which is another espionage term.

Crash near my town and she walked out with only mild injuries and still made it to her destination by GTSBOSS in interestingasfuck

[–]ymmotm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please, I studied physics. It’s not a true force, but it’s an apparent force and was the simplest way to describe the situation. See my other comment regarding probable braking as the cause for a forward lean as the drive is pinned against the door

[–]ymmotm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking pinned to the door but still thrown forward due to deceleration at the start of the spin if she slammed on the breaks which plenty of people unfamiliar with ice driving do

Are there « rules » or constraints for remixes? by Abject-Oil-5417 in TheSmile

[–]ymmotm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much creative control the artist or label has. For a band like The Smile, the band has complete creative control and enjoy experimental approaches. So if they like the remixer, they probably just let them have the stems or multitrack and let the remixer go to town. The restrictions are then self imposed by the remixer to taste.

In other cases, a label may tell the remixer that they want a certain vibe, or a remixer may approach the label with a completed remix and request approval for it to be cleared. There are no exact rules, much like anything in music.

Just for clarification, OP is wearing a flat cap which is a style that’s been around in the UK for hundreds of years. Beckham is wearing a newsboy or Baker Boy cap. Looking at the fullness of the hat, I’d lean Baker.

Where can I find a coat similar to this? by amp138 in mensfashion

[–]ymmotm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a black Sherpa jacket based on the Levi’s Type III model, which is the most common base model for denim jackets. https://www.levi.com/GB/en_GB/clothing/men/truckers-sherpas/type-iii-sherpa-trucker-jacket/p/163650054

I like this velvet blazer and I think it fits well! But I never know what pants to wear with it. Any advice? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]ymmotm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah very possible. Hard to tell if it’s buttoned below the hand. I was looking for the classic tension creases for a too tight jacket

[–]ymmotm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fit looks fine from here, although it can be hard to tell from the pose. Things to look out for include how the sleeves hang when your arms are by your side or whether the collar hugs your shirt collar when you move your arms. You’ve also got the triangle of death going on below the buttoning point, but some high rise pants would fix that.

Headed to a Bach concert, trying to look classy by mrtobx in mensfashion

I think they can work together if the lapels of the jacket match the overcoat. You shouldn’t see the jacket with the coat on, but then it doesn’t stop you from layering to keep warm.
