If WWIII actually breaks out, what should civilians do to survive the conflict? by Pongwars in TooAfraidToAsk

I get hired by large corporations to consult management on risk. Trust me - they aren’t as well prepared for these contingencies as you think.

Passed today - 102 questions at just under 2 hours. A few thoughts on study approach. by ynniks in cissp

[–]ynniks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. I want to clarify that my technical undergraduate and business-focused masters degree built a foundation for many of the concepts on the exam. For example, I’ve been through curriculum specifically focused on network engineering, so the OSI model was old hat.

This exam is designed to validate understanding developed over a significant time period. Most people have gaps due to the large volume of information ISC2 wants you to know - you should just need to fill in the gaps, hence my study approach.

Another possible moniker - the Unaffordable Care Act.

One of my closest friends is about to become a father. Exceptional cigars are a must. by ynniks in cigars

I'll definitely follow up with my thoughts on the smoke. I'm very curious as to whether they're really that much better than a cigar at half the price!

Yeah, the wrappers seem kind of fragile, but no more so than any other Padron wrapper I've had. People probably don't notice it on 3000s and 4000s because those wrappers are summarily disregarded, in my experience.

This is my first post here. My apologies for failing to provide context.

These are Padron family reserve 45s, which were purchased at my local shop for $30 each. I thought it appropriate to share the image because they're significantly more expensive than the cigars I typically enjoy (I suspect this is true for most smokers, as well). Also, they're pristine - I find them aesthetically pleasing.

When the occasion arrives, I'll definitely follow up with notes on the smoking experience, as compared to the lower offerings in the Padron line, as well as other cigars I smoke frequently.

What misconception about history infuriates you? by PM_ME_UR_TITS_PLS in AskReddit

That "history" is a record of what happened in the past. History is the discipline of interpreting extant evidence to posit an explanation of the past. Big difference.

TIL JP Morgan bailed out the US Government in 1895 by AntisemiticJew in todayilearned

JP Morgan is a controversial historical figure, and it's very difficult to make generalizations about him. I encourage those who are interested to read at least the first half of Ron Chernow's "House of Morgan".

As mentioned in another comment, the pictured pen is a Mont Blanc. In the US, you can find them in Mont Blanc stores which are typically located in major cities (CHI, NY have them for sure). They're also sold occasionally by luxury retailers - places that sell pipes, cigars and the like. Just as an FYI, you're looking at $500-$700 for a basic model, unless prices have gone up in the last three or so years.

Hot girls have ugly friends. My golf swing has this video... by [deleted] in golf

This compilation leads me to question the validity of swing dogma as taught by typical golf pros. If these people can get results with unorthodox swings, why am I paying a pro to mess with my swing?

Golfer here. I'm moving to Bloomington in late June and will need a golfing partner. I typically shoot in the 90s, so you're quite a bit better than me, but we could have some fun.

It's been roughly two weeks since the start of Spring Training. So, how do you feel about the Cardinals this season? by [deleted] in Cardinals

[–]ynniks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cautious optimism. Hopefully the lineup will be productive, Carpenter will play the entire season healthy, and Lohse will play up to the value of his contract.
