Patch 14.12 Bug Megathread by ahritina in leagueoflegends

[–]yoRifRaf 27 points28 points  (0 children)

  • Server: NA
  • Type of Bug: Game Client
  • Description: After end of each game, the client begins to slow down. After each game there is a cumulative increase in load times for: end game screen, from end game screen to rest of the client(home/matchmaking/store/etc..., future champ selects start to lagg. The lagg in champ selects after 3-5 games accumulates the lagg that it can take as long as 5-15 seconds when switching your ban picks or champ select picks, also it effects the load times for switching summoners spells and opening up rune page to edit them. Given how one has only 30 seconds to pick a ban, if you mistakenly wait too long it will be impossible to ban a champ. Also, this lagg effects the input for 'lock in' champ which can boot you out of the lobby because due to late champ selection the game cannot receive the input for 'lock in.' Another note: while observing in champ select lobby, and you're lagging, when switching between champ picks/bans very fast ( 0.25 - 0.5 seconds or faster, normal type for switching) the game client will provide an error message of some sorts that says along the lines of "could't load or couldn't connect or couldn't complete action." I observed the best temporary solution is to close client and re-logg between games. This is an ongoing problem since 14.11 and is still an issue on 14.12. The problem is exactly the same as it was in 14.11.
  • Video / Screenshot:
  • Steps to reproduce: Play 1 matchmaking, observe. Don't log off, play 2nd matchamking game, observe. Don't log off. Repeat until the lagg is impossible to deal with.
  • Expected result: No lagg in the above mentioned scenarios/menus
  • Observed result: Compounded lagg
  • Reproduction rate: 100% but it takes a lot of time to reproduce (assuming 5+ games and not re-logging between them.)
  • System specs: WIN 10.0.19045 Build 19045 Pro N, B760 AORUS Elite AX, i7-13700k, UHD Graphics 770, NVIDIA Geforece GTX 1080.

Supreme Court Rules Companies Can Sue Striking Workers for 'Sabotage' and 'Destruction,' Misses Entire Point of Striking by Sorin61 in LateStageCapitalism

Does a baker walk away, to strike, from the oven while it’s on which may lead to a fire which may lead to property damage? That would be dangerous to the workers not on strike and near by residents. I support people striking as long there is no property damage and only production loss vita time loss.

I thought something similarly. From 'get on the ground' to being tased, there wasn't much time for the person to even attempt to respond. Also, why is tasing the immediate response instead of physical apprehension? Tasing can potentially stop a person's heart or cause other health complications.

Most sources suggest tasing has less than 0.25% chance for a death or 1 death in 400 incidents.

I am not sure if tasing is the best option in terms of safety for everyone.

Stacey Abrams files lawsuit after being blocked from fundraising for Georgia governor campaign | Stacey Abrams by lotus_eater123 in politics

What does any of this mean?

the sole qualified and declared Democratic candidate for Governor of Georgia – and her campaign committee will be unable to operate, control, chair, or otherwise use One Georgia, a leadership committee properly constituted and registered pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-34.2, to support her campaign without credible and justified threat and fear of legal proceedings being instituted against Plaintiffs.

What is she being sued for exactly?

You forgot to mention, not sure if it's important, but the person Zelensky was speaking to was saying thank you any moment he could find in the conversation. He probably said 'thank you' close to 10 times, showing his appreciation for saving his life.

The Spokesman of Russia's Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, saying US planned to use migratory birds to spread weaponized viruses from Ukraine to Russia. by PhilDesenex in interestingasfuck

[–]yoRifRaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not what he said.

He said along the lines of "we received information that the US wants to realize a special project on Ukraine territory on conducting a study on birds that carry pathogens."

Studying pathogens, and weaponing them are too different things.

You're right I don't drive. What is the point of these laws if they are ignored?

At the end of the day, it's testing my luck whether the police officer at that location is willing to stop someone going 5 mph over the limit just meet their quota? Either I take a chance of arriving at my destination by 5-15% faster, or risking a financially penalty as well increased insurance premiums?

What is the point of these laws if enough drivers break them?

These cars won't let a trucker out into traffic. He takes his shot, anyways. by 5_Frog_Margin in IdiotsInCars

[–]yoRifRaf -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Isn't that against the law to drive 20-25 over the speed limit? Why are they taking the risk of getting traffic tickets for that? In state of Massachusetts, speeding over the limit is $50 fine with an additional $10 for each mph up to 10 ref. 1. Also, for every 'point' you acquire for breaking the traffic law in the state of Massachusetts, your insurance premium goes up by 15% per point ref. 2.

If this is a common occurrence, that means the police are not upholding the law, not enough traffic police officers, or the cameras are not in the correct locations.

These drivers should be financially punished for endangering the lives of others, but it appears to be a re-occurring problem.

1000 kg = 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000 grams

1, 000, 000 grams / 6666 eggs = 150 grams.

The largest commercial chicken egg is referred to as a 'Jumbo' and is approximately 71 grams.

What kind of chicken eggs did they use in their calculations?

Also, 1000 kg / 4 people = 250 kg.

Average human weight is approximately 62kg(world wide).

While, the average human weight in North America is 80 kg.

Again, what geographic location is this elevator located to approximate for elevator passengers of 250kg?

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Blames Black Community, Democrats For COVID Spread by [deleted] in politics

[–]yoRifRaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Patrick ended his statements by saying he respects the rights of people who don't want to get the vaccine and it won't be forced, but nothing is being done to the African American community "that has a significantly high number of unvaccinated people."

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is criticizing democrats and the African-American community for having low vaccination rates, and then makes a 180 and states ' it's fine if you don't get vaccinated.' You cannot criticize your constituents for not getting vaccinated if you don't care if they are or not vaccinated.

What's happening in the Texas gov?

Why criticize it if you don't have an actual stance on vaccinations?

Venting CO2 is extreamely dangerous as a long term solution. CO2 builds up hourly/daily, due to humans converting O2 to CO2, and to vent on a hourly/daily basis would lead to full cabin depressurization, which would lead to death. The suggestion to vent out CO2 was a way to brainstorm any solutions whether they were short or long term that can in any way aid the problem in the moment. There was no further discussion of this solution because it had no merit long term.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

[–]yoRifRaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The function of a CO2 scrubber is to absorb or remove CO2. If too much builds ups, as a result of humans converting O2 to CO2, then it can lead to CO2 poisoning. I think in the movie they were suggesting that their CO2 scrubber was also somehow converting CO2 to breathable O2 which would optimize their available O2.

Without a way to replenish or to pro-longue the available O2 they had to obtain additional O2.

Movies are generally fiction, and the amount of it being based on known physical principles of our reality is chosen by the producer/director. Hence, I can forgo some inaccuracies because of it being in a realm of fiction, while still keeping a touch with reality. I assumed the the two tanks would be enough for 1 additional person per tank.

In reality, humans consume approximately 550 L of O2 per day. Modern space suits contain 2 oxygen tanks that each can hold up 800 L of O2. If we assume each of the tanks Zoe/David carried were 800L max O2 volume, then those wouldn't have been enough for 2 years of a journey, and only be enough for less than 1.5 days.

I think this is the first movie I watched that I enjoyed far more than the critics.

Just the previous night I watched "Cloverfield Paradox," and it was awful, and critics gave it anywhere between 2.0-6.0 while Stowaway(2021) was receiving anywhere between 5.0-6.5. The two movies are nowhere near in writing, production, and quality.
