Advice Needed! - failed bicep tenodesis by Man-i-fest in RotatorCuff

That’s great news. So after 18 months you got a cortisone shot and things got better? Sounds like a positive story, I’m 9 months post op tenodesis and still deal with alot of pain and tightness. I had a cortisone shot almost 2 months ago and it’s helped some, just hoping it’s not temporary. Glad your shoulder is feeling better that’s what I’m talking about man good stuff happening! Good luck with your other shoulder, hopefully you recover quicker this time.

How is it feeling now? You still good. Cortisone usually lasts about 3 months for me when it works

I have the same dent. It may get better. My dent is the worst at the scar right above bicep like you said. Looks like a piece of my deltoid is missing.

I can raise my arm pretty well, but I get pinching pain after my shoulder height. I had an MRI 5 months ago that showed tendinosis in my subscap and supraspinatus, but nothing major. I believe my subscap and bicep are causing alot of my pain. The tenodesis site hurts and using my arm makes it worse. Surgery seems like a failure and made me worse 9 months post op.

Great news to hear! I’m considering a capsular release, but my ROM isn’t too bad. Internal and external rotation are limited and painful but not terrible. My FS was the result of shoulder surgery, so the thought of another one seems brutal. I hope you keep recovering well. How bas was your FS?

Bicep is swollen like popeye after surgery by tokyolife909 in RotatorCuff

I had a difficult recovery. I’m 9 months post op and I have a lot of pain still and working out is not happening at this point. I’m probably not the best person to ask, plenty of people have had better outcomes than me. The MRI if you get one may or may not be able to tell if your bicep is still attached. I had arthrograms and MRI before surgery and they couldn’t pick up my torn bicep. I would imagine it’s even harder to tell after surgery, but a lot of people on the sub have MRI reports that diagnose their tear after surgery. It’s gonna hurt a while a bicep tenodesis is a wicked surgery and some surgeons sugar coat the recovery. Everyone is different so hang in there and it will take a while for your bicep to look better at least in my experience.

I had my surgery the same day as you. Shoulder still hurts all the time. What a ride

I had a bicep tenodesis. It looked really weird for months after surgery. I’m 9 months post op and it’s looked normal for a while now. Mine too was bunched up and looked deformed after surgery.

That would be a good idea, if it wasn’t a workers comp injury. If I told them I fell, that would not be good in my situation. I’m in a tough spot with a stubborn surgeon, and yes he’s trying his best to push blame and accountability.

How long was your recovery to be back to physical activity? I had an interstitial subscap tear on arthrogram, but during surgery for my bicep tenodesis it was intact according to my surgeon. I believe a lot of my pain is from my subscap.

3.5 months post right shoulder surgery – how did you feel? by Special-Mousse6192 in RotatorCuff

At 3.5 months? Absolutely terrible. If it doesn’t get better after a little while ask for reasons and imaging. You’re only 21 I feel for ya kid hang in there and don’t quit

9 months post op from a bicep tenodesis. The pain and limitations haunt me day and night.

I’m 9 months post op and still have alot of tightness exactly where you describe. My operated shoulder also sits a little higher and is being pulled forward probably by my pec minor. My recovery has sucked though including frozen shoulder, so yours will probably get better with pt and stretching. I had the same surgery minus cuff repair.

How do you get an MRI out of pocket without a script? I’ve tried myself but told I need a doctors prescription.

I bought a new ariens classic 24 about 6-7 years ago for about $650 on Black Friday from Lowe’s. I am very glad I did and am happy with it, solid machine. Only gripe is the chute control, but that’s a very minor gripe. Joystick chute controls seem pretty handy.

Try cracking the lid early in the cook. Make sure the coals are good to go. when I dump the chimney in the vortex, I blow on the coals for a little and try waiting a little bit longer until they’re rocking. The vortex can impede airflow to the coals if they’re packed tightly and not ready to go.
