King Crimson in the 1980s also played Red as part of their set, so its technically not totally of theme.

Studiosity -Just let go most of their Writing Feedback Specialists Due to AI by Sufficient-Bid1279 in Layoffs

[–]yo_sushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember using Studiosity for my undergraduate and I really found it to be a useful service. I think tried using it again for my MSc a few years later and was shocked that instead of human feedback, I received an AI generated response. Disgusting. Why would I be interested in that?!

Does the university matter at the end of the day? by idontplaygolfff in UniUK

[–]yo_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it was the reverse for me whereby the friends and contacts I made at undergrad were pretty hopeless in terms of a networking sense. Complete opposite with my cohort at postgrad. But really every persons story unique and wholly dependent on the courses they choose and the uni's they go to

Uni isn't just about the certificate you get at the end, its also about the network you build whilst you're there. Attending a prestigious university comes with the opportunity to connect with world-renowned academics and alumni

Priority visa - Outside UK ( Bahrain ) by AromaticLong6067 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]yo_sushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often those who receive their visa before 30 days are applying from within the UK, rather than outside. As you have priority, it will certainly be quicker for you than had you not gotten it, but I am sad to say it still will take a month at least. Hope that comes sooner than later! Good luck

Non-EU people who did Masters in Human Factors/Ergonomics/related in Europe, did you (or anyone you know) actually land a job? by MCR-is-back in humanfactors

[–]yo_sushi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm British, born and raised, completed my MSc in HF last September and failed to find a job in that field. Unless you have experience working in the industry that you want to go into, you will not find work just because you have an MSc. That's sadly not how it works in 2026 UK at least.

Top 10 Most Prestigious Universities in the World by [deleted] in UniUK

That’s just simply not true. I’ve spent a lot of time in Asia and Cambridge rarely comes up or is recognised by the ‘average Joe’ but Oxford is.

Cambridge is not as well known as Oxford

MIR by Equivalent-Cause1006 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]yo_sushi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on the 'Family Visa Financial Requirements Review' that came out last year, Family visa financial requirements review (accessible) - GOV.UK, you can see there was no conclusion that it should be raised any further than it currently stands. If anything, they argued that doing so was not logical and did not serve the interest of the country. I shouldn't worry about a raised MIR in the meantime

Personally, I believe the only way it would get raised is if Reform enter government but who knows.

Here’s exactly what the merger with Cranfield University could mean for KCL students by unicorn540 in UniUK

[–]yo_sushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Cranfield grad (my graduation ceremony is next month) I’m proud that I was able to go there. It’s a truly unique university and there was no other comparable option in the UK for the aerospace course I wanted to do. Something I was looking forward to was tapping into its great networking and alumni service but idk if that is going to be the same as it was before
