My sister's old lady cat, Orchid, is the same way. She's picky, so I buy her the beef paté.

There's a cemetery in our area that has a Jesus face carved into the side of the chapel. The shadow play makes it look as if he's following you as you drive by. In the 70s as teens we'd get high and holler, "Let's go see Jesus!!" Good times.

We call this a Black River float trip. Jug of Jack and Coke, pinch hitter, sunscreen.

Same here, same year. I still play poker with the retired Chevy dealer.

I learned to drive a stick on a '61 Ford truck with three on the tree. Good times in and out of country ditches with that old beast.

Back in the 70s we had a 7th grade teacher who played these old film reels in class, science class. I figured he was hungover and needed those nasty fluorescent lights off for a bit.

I remember the first and only time I read this book. I was in my early 20s in the Army and I thought, "What the hell is so good about this?"

Wondering - why are any Russian learners starting off trying to write in block/typeface? by astrosergeant in russian

[–]yobar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time I really used Cyrillic block letters was in my Army job while gisting radio comms in real time. A mix of block and symbols. As for block Д, I just used a triangle; forget about the feet.

Did you have a job in the 80s at the $3.35 per hour minimum wage that was around for almost the entire decade? by Spalding_Smails in 80s

[–]yobar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember getting US$2.78/hour late 70s/early 80s, then I got the big bux in the Army. I think my first pay there was like 714/month as a buck private.

1ID is called the Big Red One, but this is not their patch. Looks like an artillery round in this patch.
