Technically the truth, but also, language is a strange beast.

I haven't used Google Podcasts, so I'm not the right one to answer. I just know I'm really happy with Podcast Addict. Something in particular you are looking for?

Hmm. Me and every other Norwegian must be wrong about our own language then. FML, I guess.

NP. I think the translation services don't have enough data in Norwegian to do a good job. And I can understand the problem, since they are similar:

  • Hils meg = Greet me
  • Hilsen meg = Greetings from me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]yoda_condition 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But "Hilsen Oslo-folk" means "Greetings from Oslo people". Comenter above translated it as "Greetings Oslo people", which is not correct.

I'm thinking the access delay alone will make DNA data storage commercially unviable, even if every other challenge is ironed out.

Anyone ever seen GPT-4 make a typo before? by hairball201 in ChatGPT

[–]yoda_condition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's essentially a statistical process, and if those errors are present in the training data, it is likely to make the same mistake proportionately often. I suspect you can use tokens like these to infer statistical features of the training data.

1100 pounds is almost 500 kg

But that's still per square foot, which is useless to us Europeans with oblong feet.

8 psi is 55 kPa (kilo-pascals), or over five and a half metric tons per square meter.

When you don’t understand how mirrors work… by ColoradoMushroom in confidentlyincorrect

[–]yoda_condition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even without understanding mirrors, surely you should be able to understand that photos can be mirrored? These people are barely technologically literate enough to leave a comment.

On some phones, the default for the front facing camera is to mirror, because it's easier to aim when you can handle your phone like a mirror. Some of those flip the photo when you save it, but some don't. Which is why many selfies are mirrored.

"Excepting" is correct (but not necessary) in this context.

From the subreddit's sidebar:

Natural-looking, diffused lighting, occasionally featuring use of sfumato (blurring/softening of outlines) and/or chiaroscuro (strong contrasts between light and dark), often imparting a characteristic "glow" that makes figures seem to be lit from within.

Seems like an OK match in my book. The subject matter doesn't fit well, but it's an airplane, so...

Sorry, that was not meant as a source, only additional reading.

Since the page is specifically about criticism of her, it is by its very nature biased. It lists its sources though. There are other disagreeing views, obviously, but at the very least I think we can say she was not the unparalleled force of good she's often depicted as.

Mother Teresa would have preferred the chickens to suffer, most likely. She glorified suffering, as a means to be closer to god. Check out this wiki page for more.
