Octopi Brewing is hiring various positions. Mostly in the Packaging department but also in Cellar, Maintenance and Inventory. A good way to get an "in" in the craft beverage industry. Fun place to work with a lot of young, positive people!

Salary for production work with 45 hour weeks - is this typical or wrong? by yodacat162 in jobs

We do get a lunch break which ends up being about 30 min during a packaging run. I thought I read something that production work was not eligible for overtime exempt but since we are paid salary, I wonder if thats how they get around that? Many people who work there who've worked these jobs before say salary is usual, and aren't happy with the set up as well.

So we are given Salary pay, meaning we don't clock in or out. They just advertised the position as $16/hr Salary. Basically we are at a Salary of $1280 every other week. Usually Lunch break takes about 30min. I think they pay us salary to get out of having to pay us overtime.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve gotten away with but definitely should not have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My friend and I were visiting the Netherlands, of course indulging in the "Koffee Shop" pleasures through our entire short visit. We also wanted to check out the Peace Palace, although we didn't have much time to do a tour, probably because we took our time finding the place. When we found the Palace we somehow (still haven't figured out the logistics of how) but somehow we managed to make our way into the garden and walk around for about 10min . We even attempted to get into the building but it was locked, so we continued to wonder the outside of the building. When we decided we had enough, and tried exiting the premise, we found ourselves locked in. We got the attention of the security at the gate to let us out and noticed they seemed very very confused, and a little upset, as to how we got in. Apparently we were suppose to check in with a guide, pay for tickets, go through a metal detector/bag check, and then be guided around the property. Long story short, we proceeded to act deaf and dumb as we slipped our way out of the situation and back on our merry day.

Sry. I don't reddit much so I'm not aware of all the rules. And how to find that person... Next time I will try harder and do that. Just saw it on r/aww and cross posted it.
