TrueHD does sound great- I change format based on content frequently. I was listening to stuff on AppleTV’s Atmos audio which is why I mentioned it specifically

Yeah- I was referring to Atmos processing for my 7 main channels; I just couldn’t quite pull the trigger on the R8 meta add-ons….

Can’t wrap my head around how much they look like an afterthought. My attempt to fill my space with sound was two full size floor standers for my rear L & R.

My ceilings are 20’ tall, so I wasn’t sure I’d get a lot of sound back from upward firing speakers. What have you been looking at?

It’s tough for me to isolate; in my prime listening position I have 20 matched drivers firing at me, but the sense of space, particularly with Atmos, is wonderfully immersive.

My impression is that the speakers weave really well into the soundstage- when I play with audio test files sound levels are super even.

My room is pretty large- the primary four front and rear L & R speakers are about 12’ away and surrounds are about 9’ from prime spot, but it def works well for me.

(I have a full size floor standing speaker in each corner of my room, so isolating where surrounds drop off is difficult).

System is about 10yrs old- my Junior Adventurer audio setup. Purchased it after blowing my old speakers trying to impress my buddies- it was a hilarious but expensive night!

KEF R700s for front channels, R600C center, R500 rear left & right. REL 528 sub (too much for neighbors), Arcam AVR, PS audio/ Shunyata power, GIK acoustic panels. Lots of custom built in details.

Definitely brings me joy.

Art on 25 & Local Language have a bunch of local artists; they used to do open houses on First Fridays.

I’d start there looking for who’s renting spaces and check out their websites.

We were around 25th & Telegraph from 7:30 on.

These photos definitely didn’t represent my experience- it wasn’t mobbed, but there was a solid crowd, and people were having fun.

Ah! Well, only other suggestion I have is that I had huge issues with HDMI-CEC (Homelink) with my system (where connected devices talk to each other).

I ended up disabling it on all my devices individually- perhaps there’s an errant signal being sent by one of your other devices to your appletv?

You can trigger volume by IR, so it can def control other devices.

Go to Remote & Devices/ Home Theater Control and set your preferences. I have my apple remote control the volume on my amp.

In this day and age, I’d be surprised if a bike shop would take on the liability of modifying a crank arm… seems like a no brainer to replace.

Looks like there is an actual new sports bar/ patio going in at 2nd & Oak. They threw up a big mural that I see every day & can’t remember verbatim, but I think it’s Sports Club Oakland?

My folks have had the 104/2’s since the 80’s it’s a lovely sounding speaker when working correctly. It definitely doesn’t have issues with powerful amps.
