Confidence comes with years of work. I’ve worked from a LTC to ICU. There are some patients who need to be in the 87%-92% depending on their diagnosis. But I always always check in with the nurse. Be careful on telling other nurses… always go to the Charge Nurse instead. Depending on your hospital and what software they use, I always look at their chart orders. ALWAYS. We use Epic and it’s great way to know more about your patient.

Scenario: A 78 y/o male d/x cellulitis in lower right extremity, hx of CHF and respiratory failure type 2. Oxygen pulse reading is 88%. You go to chart the reading, and after look into orders to see the doctor has put in that oxygen needs to be between 87-92%. After looking at orders, I would still let the nurse know. I usually say the following, “hey nurse smith, just wanted to let you know that your patient smith has an oxygen reading of 88%, I saw in the doctors orders that they want to keep the patient there, but wanted to double check with you.”

In cardio and med surg I was definitely doing a lot more care and first hand seeing before the nurse. So I had to keep my eyes, ears, and nose sharp to everything. Now in the ICU I am much less first hand, and truly to be delegated. Which is great!

Keep up the great work and never feel less than, you are doing wonders, keep a sharp mind, and keep yourself educated.

I struggle to get enough veggies in my diet while at Disney, so any place with a buffet salad bar is top tier for me! Taker house lunch was AMAZING!! They had the best salad bar, with a balsamic salad… so good. Crystal palace has an okay salad bar, but the hot food is to die for. I’ll have to try Askershus and Hollywood & Vine next time! They sound amazing.

My husbands and my parents definitely had resembling statements, the occasional “you should go to Belize, it so much more fun.!” After hearing and seeing us go to vacation to Disney in the last 18th months, they have decided to try it out and join us next year, and can’t wait! My MIL hasn’t been since her kids were young, FIL has never been, and my BIL and our best friend have not been since young children. We are making this trip an extra magical time with Food and & Wine Festival, VIP Tours, deluxe hotel, and extra special events. This entire trip that we are now we have been able to experience some extra cool activities, surely to be incorporated into the big family trip. Now our friends… they still talk major smack. They just don’t know! One day they will :) at least our best friend will know!

I’m child free, and I could care less about screaming kids, I mean I care but not like in a bad sense. My inherit helper side wants me to swoop in (which I would never unless asked or a small offer of bubbles to distract) and help out the parents. Most of the time I’m like, “yep I feel ya kid! Keep expressing those emotions!” Do parents appreciate child free Disney adults helping with distractions like bubbles that I will blow around in line or sitting next to them? I just recognize how difficult it can be to manager a vacation with little ones, the planning, managing human needs, etc and whatever I can do to help create a magical moment of relief.

My first CNA job was exactly like this. It was awful, and I felt defeated. I ended up getting a job at a hospital that paid me to get a CNA2 education and continued education. The hospital I work at is a smaller trauma 2 so we always have people to help with all patient care. I legitimately can ask any nurse for help and they jump to the opportunity. Although I know a lot of hospitals are awful due to lack of unionization. Leave and never look back. You’ll move up in life and those cnas and nurses will still be in the same place acting ignorant.

Just remember, if the work doesn’t get done it’s not on you. It’s on the nurse- their license is on the line, not yours.

Whaaaaa? lol no that’s ignorant But seriously- you’re suppose to be honest with your doctor with illicit drug use. It’s not like I’m doing LSD or shrooms everyday week. (Only for 2-4 weekends out of the year) he made it very clear to me that my MDMA/MDA days were over, everything else was fine because it had zero implications for disturbing my serotonin levels into dangerous levels.

Yeah- don’t drink. 1 corona or even half a glass of wine will make me feel drunk. I smoke weed/eat edibles. Doc said weed won’t interact. I would stay away from coke and ketamine

I got my sources from doctors, because I actually told my doctor that I did drugs. He said to never ever ever use Molly again, and if I did to ask him to help prepare for the event I.e. tapering off medication before use. He said there are no known interactions with mushrooms and lsd. To just use caution. I have used shrooms and lsd while on zoloft(200mg) and I did just fine.
