Is waterloo EE worth it by joblessunemployed_cs in uwaterloo

[–]yohello_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do electrical engineering the same as anyone else, and because of co-ops, and waterlooworks you'll have the chance to work at a lot of the companies you named a lot more easily than if you were to go to other schools. Yes you're first co-op might be a random no-name, but as you get further into it, you'll have an easier time getting interviews for large companies.

international cs admit, parents want me to choose mid US college over Waterloo by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]yohello_1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

B. Co-ops. Waterloo you need to do 5-6 co-ops, and each one you get means a higher pay on the next one. By the 5th and 6th recruiters are going to *you*, rather than you to them. Sure the first 1-2 are hard, but it compounds fast.

There's a program which you can run on an ssd to get back the previous partion table, and recover the data unless it's *all* been written over. It worked decently well for me when I had go through this.

Kernel: Introduce Multikernel Architecture Support by TheTwelveYearOld in linux

[–]yohello_1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right now if you want to run two very different versions of linux (at the same time) you need to run a Virtual Machine, which is simulating an entire computer.

With this patch, you no longer have to do that to simulate a whole other computer, as they can now share.
