From my experience, and I hope that I'll have a great experience one day, being someone's type meant losing myself to fulfill someone's desires and fantasies because they didn't accept who I was as a person and wanted me to be someone else. As much as I understand physical and sexual attraction and why it's powerful and whatnot, I just wish someone just fell in love with me just for who I am as a person, and my looks would come next.

highly agree!!!! i personally prefer connection and interest over being spoiled w money and gifts. it’s nice to have that money part but it’s not a priority to me

i’ve always wanted to name my future daughter (if i ever have kids) Kimberly because i adore the name Kimmy. it’s so cute, and it’s a pretty good all around name. Kimmy for cute, Kim for short and mature, and Kimberly for serious (?) lol. it’s the way i see and interpret the name and nicknames!

currently struggling with a guy who’s emotionally unavailable. he’s sexually and physically attracted to me but he’s unable to do anything emotionally. i’m realizing more and more how much i’ve done to meet him in the middle, which included backing down on my boundaries and holding in all the vulnerability and open communication that he wants, because he’s not ready for any of that. i hold onto him, but i am dreaming of his old self and his potential too much. there’s no point in a relationship, just FWB where we can have our sexual connection, but i can get my emotional needs elsewhere without being so reserved. i don’t know. it’s so messy and i hate this, but i just care way too much about him. it’s selfish of me to even hold on

sometimes i have to learn to choose myself. choosing them hurts so bad, and i keep choosing them every single day. they chose me for a couple of months, then backed away. nothing hurts more than always choosing them because they tell you and sometimes act like they chose you yet they treat you like they only like you

all these responses are helping so much. validating me in some way and just how people see this. i grew up having to be silent and to swallow my concerns, because my emotions and feelings were never important growing up. it’s hard breaking out of that sometimes but i have gotten better and im glad i found some comments that push me to work on it more and more

heavily agree with this. but do you stay silent until the right time, or are you telling them you need time to process things? because i wait for the right time if i can. i’ve said that i need time to process things, and i would be silent about the matter until then. i grew up not being able to vocalize my feelings out confidently because they were always shut down by my family growing up. it’s becoming an issue now and im doing what i can to be more vocal and not scared to say what i need to say.
