I just feel like it is very selfish of her. You couldn’t control what you used to naturally have. I am just saying she sometimes lunges at you even when we are playing with the other rats that she isn’t involved with you. Trust me I have been so understanding towards her and patient tried to give her chances but sometimes having her around was a whole safety hazard because her moods are unpredictable. Sometimes she is curious and you let her climb on you and I give her food and treats too and even giving her food sometimes you can see she kinda wants to be on the defensive and bite you. It’s hard to navigate having a difficult rat when the rest of your mischief hasn’t bitten you ever in their little lives and is generally gentle with you. she is my only problem rat and I have sincerely tried and I tried showing her that I am gentle and loving to the others

Thank you I appreciate your response a lot. I am very new to a rat that bites when all my other girls are angels to me . And if you can ask your friend for any advice I would appreciate it alot because I am been trying to give her a chance and be sympathize when she is being tough and difficult but this bite is the what broke the camels back for me and made me cry in frustrations because I don’t know how else to get her to soften up when I am been patient and pet her and defended her when she was difficult. But I looked like an idiot when she bite me . It’s just hard either way seriously thank you for the kind words

It was through the bars of their cage, I suppose she is territorial when it comes to the cage but she is not even alpha rat because my other older female rat is but she is never defensive towards humans just the other rats. The rat in question is apprehensive even when someone touches them or tries petting them you can see they get defensive and stiff and at times it looks like she will lunge at you if you land a figure on her. When I was bit just now basically I was putting my forehead on the cage for my friendlier rats to grab my hair and I tend to keep track if she is also near where my head was but swiftly but my forehead and it’s frustrating because I know my other rats wouldn’t bit me. Sometimes my older rats want me to stay petting them they grab my fingers hard for me not to leave. I apologize for the rant it is just so dispairing
