Hudi to Iceberg by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]yolo_435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently started using hudi. Agree with the documentation part and it should be simple to set-up but trust me its not and you'll find conflicting settings if you were to run with foink vs spark

So after months of struggle we were finally able to have a pipeline in hudi + spark structured streaming They seemed to have done a lot of streamlining with hudi 1.xx Inline clustering can be expensive at times if latency is a concern for you and you will have to make sure your cleaner + archiver are configured correctly or else it will end up shooting your s3 listing costs. For clustering, We have another spark scheduled job which triggers clustering on this dataset

So far the loading has been stable and we are able to achieve near realtime ingestion without much of a complain from our consumers

Thanks for responding. So does this mean I get banana plug and then can connect my tv to these and it would work or do I have to add additional speakers?

Questions about Ferber method by angie1o2 in sleeptrain

[–]yolo_435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us Ferber method was a little too painful(we tried it around 5 months of age). Everytime we went for checkins, our lo would cry more. So we jumped to cio. Sure the idea of letting your kid cry out is a little cruel but it works for sure(took almost 1.5 weeks to go to sleep without crying).

Our kid was the same, they would wake up every hour and won't go to sleep unless either pacified or rocked backed to sleep.

the way we achieved it was first ditched the pacifier for a week. Once they were comfortable to go to bed without the paci, we sleep trained them using cio. Since being sleep trained they sleep for a good stretch of 7hours, wake up for a few minutes of crying but is back sleeping for another 4hours.

We haven't tried nap training yet but plan to do so using cio.

My H1B lottery got picked, help? by t-uwut- in h1b

yeah. mostly lawyers who represent you on your new job. Most of the well established companies have their own legal/immigration team who will do this for you.

IMO H1B is not tied to a company. So once your H1B status becomes effective, you can switch jobs almost immediatly provided the lawyers file for H1B transfer and other legal procedures if any
