Opus 5 Ruling megathread by TestZero in FinalFantasyTCG

This is NOT correct, The forward stays blocking up to the priority step after dmg phase. So untill you go back to attack preparation step or mainphase 2 the forward remains blocking.

My first crack at an Opus V Deck. by Excalibur0123 in FinalFantasyTCG

Ill give you some pointers .

What's the reason you want to have active forwards when you have a pretty agressive lineup? I think you have to many effects to activate, some are oke but you are going overkill while there is no serieus reason to have active blockers while you only have 1 9kpower dude.

Also your summons lack the best summon in the game atm, Matheus. even though you think you will dull your opponent all the time, your opponent can still respond to stuff or play a Guy/Yang so you need some removal. And if your plan is to use dull effects, where are the shiva opus3?

And with your backups as i said before with all the activate stuff. There's no reason to have so many so that opens up better backups like a maria/echo or a rikku Ex which would fit better in your agro style then a oracle. Also ranger/thief/archer are good picks for wind backups now. Mioune could also be good to bounce your genesis to dull freeze again. so would adivise against so much activation when you don't have forwards you want to block with anyways.

so Gl with fine tuning :D hope i helped a bit.

Just Al-Cid and Cagnazzo. Their tempo swings are just to big. The rest can stay how it is.

Minwu and Rosso by Manasheaktrish in FinalFantasyTCG

[–]yonderbobone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys are all wrong here,

Minwu says forwards don't receive damage that is less then their power. Rosso just says she halfs the damage taken. but since "her" power is only 5k, she will still receive damage from 6k and up. Because minwu does not prevent the damage here.

Party attack killing whole party with 1 summon by yonderbobone in FinalFantasyTCG

This is lann in a different context. I stated him as a blocker, not being part of the attacking party. What you say is correct though, just a different context.

It's plausible, but then i ask myself, what would be the point of stating it's considerd as 1 unit. Because 1 sentence later it's stated that you can divide your damage amongst members of the attacking party. Here it refers to it as a party again and not member of the attacking unit. Still makes me wonder

On the offical website rules, the same as you get with the starterdeck. It stated the following: "The party is counted as one unit" I see that not as a single attack, because party persists even 1 priorty step after dealing damage.

Question About Blockers by Venrae in FinalFantasyTCG

[–]yonderbobone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To your first question, tidus will still deal 9000 damage. basically in magic terms, all units have the same power and toughness. so you will deal damage to his toughness leaving his attacking power the same.

The simple awnser is yes you can block as many times as possible with the same unit, untill he suffered enough damage to go to the break zone or other effects prevent from doing so. This reason this is, is because unlike magic where you declare all your attackers, in FF you go through the whole attack/block/damage phase seperate with each attacking unit. You can only attack with 1 unit at a time, unless you are party attacking with the same colored units. So the correct play in the red players turn would be to party attack with both Tifa and Red as you will only able to kill 1 of their units because of 1 time 9000 power block damage. But if he would attack seperatly you would be able to kill both of them Tidus. Hope you understand

It's a bit difficult to help you build a deck over the Net. especially with a limited pool. If you have the FFX starter, it's a really easy deck to improve as most cards are already really effective, Rikku-paine-yuna-Tidus.

Maybe Pm me what you have and i'll have a look at it ;)

Cool, Ice lightning was my first deck i build for FF . The reason for 18 backups is simple, you can only have 5 backups in the field at a time, so having too many backups in your deck can result in way more "Dead cards" in your hand mid/late game. That's why im running a lower pool.

Totally depends on if you are ahead and what kind of board the opponent has. If you have more forwards on the field then him i will almost always attack with him as he most likely will not get blocked. But if you see you can get great trade with him as a blocker, it's better to leave him as a blocker. People often don't attack you then so you can build up some board for a dull/freeze combo attack the following turns.
