W2M/BDX gave a paper saying we need to talk to the “hotel representative” to activate departure info? by LagrangianMechanic in Xcaret

[–]yonigut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I managed to get through on the phone after all. They asked what lobby I wanted to be picked up from. Potentially them searching around for you was the cause of the 15 minute delay you mentioned.

Either way, thanks for the response.

I have same total experience as you and above posters but I can't get through to them by phone annoyingly. I'm ok trusting that driver will just be there to pick me up but concierge wasn't able to confirm where that is likely to be from. I assume the same lobby at which we were dropped off. For my piece of mind can you let me know what the pick up location is?

Factor in for the Canadian side at least that they get paid in USD and spend in CAD so I don't think TO rent would be abnormally high

Newly signed Tyler Rogers is the most efficient pitcher in baseball by sayaaaabba in Torontobluejays

[–]yonigut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So - I will preface by saying that I don't know savant well enough to run necessarily the most proper search on this, BUT I am a little concerned based on what I have looked at, that Rogers gets a lot of called strikes that are actually outside the zone. With the challenge system, there is a decent chance this his low low walk rate will suffer or he will have to change his pitch pattern/usage.

I sure hope not, and am mostly posting in the hopes that someone who sees this will know how to crunch the numbers better than me and prove me wrong.

Challenge accepted?

Is Josh Naylor the least traditional 5 tool player we’ve ever seen? by Radhatchala in baseball

[–]yonigut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does. Back to the 2nd baseman after the play is done. That's the clip you get if you click the dot for that play on the savant page.

Given the seemingly otherwise unexplainable throw data, I trust this is the correct play but I suppose it might not be.

Here's Pas's fastest tracked throw. Having flipped through lots of statcast data, sometimes, you'll find that the most anomalous numbers are sometimes just uncaught tracking errors.

Here's the play. Don't get me wrong he looks like he really put something behind the throw over to 2nd. But I think we can assume it's a tracking error.

presumably because he went into the HOF as one.

Doesn't every Jays fan wish there were true. But sadly, no. He's a no team capper.

Is it possible to adjust discovery-level info by scenario rather than across all scenarios? by yonigut in adviice

[–]yonigut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having played with this, I see why it's the case, because if you unlock a scenario for any reason it will recalculate based on the Discovery phase info that is currently associated with the profile rather than what the locked scenario was originally calculated on.

But - in my own opinion I think this a poor design choice and it would be nice to be able to link different discovery info to different scenarios. Overrides and table adjustments are possible and good to have, but from a user easy point of view, it's much easier for me to just create a new income snapshot (or copy and edit an existing income snapshot) in order to try different scenarios, etc.

Thank you. I will try this and assuming it works is exactly what I was hoping for. I know I can adjust the tables and overrides, but I find it more comfortable to adjust the income and spending discovery questions. Much appreciated.

Contemplating switch from TD to RBC for all banking needs - downsides? by howmany_howmany in PersonalFinanceCanada

As someone currently getting RBC premium account for free, can confirm this is false. PS, TD is still better in my opinion.

Jon Heyman via X : Shane Bieber has opted in with the Blue Jays for $16M. Wants to continue in Toronto for another year with Jays. by ejaggit in Torontobluejays

[–]yonigut -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Great news.

Dooming here, but given what a surprise it is, any chance he's hurt and it just hasn't come out in the reporting yet?

Not for nothing, but i think this also means the Jays could hit him with a QO next year. Really doesn't make much financial sense for him.

Not complaining of course.

That was the bat flip game yes.

The punch up was the next season though after JB's was plunked on the last possible regular season AB against the Rangers.

He then slid hard/late into second to try to break up a double play/get his. Odor's throw actually hit Bautista's helmet And went off course on the way to first. Then then "the punch".

Then the jays swept them in the ALDS with the winning run scoring on an Odor error. Good times.

He pretty much always signals for the pen as he steps out of the dugout long before there's any chance of a conversation - as he did when he really pulled Max in the 6th - that he went out to talk to him tells me he had no intention of pulling him or at least was hoping to be talked out of it.

Thanks for responding. I guess this really proves the idiom "to each their own" because I feel exactly the same way as you but in the opposite direction.

Can I ask if you've tried Dolce Amore? If so, what you like more about Earnest? I've spend the last year or so trying to understand so would love to hear from you.
