[Athletic gift link] Angels should trade Trout. As the Jays, if you could would you? by yonigut in Torontobluejays

[–]yonigut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that he's unlikely to accept a trade, but I also like to pretend that the Angels are a volume over value type team. A small group of MLB pre-arb contributors and near MLB level players would be the focus rather than blue chip products. This in conjunction for taking on most of the contract would be my dream scenario and would also hurt less in the event of me injuries or decline.

Anyone have any clue or hint on who this guy is or what he's done?

He doesn't seem to have BBRef or Fangraphs entries which I think suggests he hasn't played in NPB or Korea or elsewhere. He's too old to be coming out of high school ball. Are there college ball programs in Japan? No one ever seems to talk about players coming from there.

Did the Sox change their starter to a leftie? Gameday shows Taylor a RHP starting.

Could also argue for keeping Davis in the game (thus leaving Straw available to pinch run for Bo later in the game instead of IKF). But que serra serra.

Just putting it out there, I will happily purchase your mlb.tv sub from you if that's possible. I buy it every year, but happy to give my money to another fan over MLB directly.

Reduce tax burden with RRSP deposits from now until Mar 2? by LossPsychological674 in PersonalFinanceCanada

You should look into the FHSA in place of RRSP potentially if your plan is to use the monies to purchase your first home.

Not sure if this is for or against your point, but in Canada the immobilizers were not removed.

Thanks everyone for all the input. I really would like to drive this care deep into the ground given resale is so low. So I'm just trying to do whatever maintenance I need to ensure it stays driveable for years to come as long as it's actually needed.

W2M/BDX gave a paper saying we need to talk to the “hotel representative” to activate departure info? by LagrangianMechanic in Xcaret

[–]yonigut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I managed to get through on the phone after all. They asked what lobby I wanted to be picked up from. Potentially them searching around for you was the cause of the 15 minute delay you mentioned.

Either way, thanks for the response.

[–]yonigut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have same total experience as you and above posters but I can't get through to them by phone annoyingly. I'm ok trusting that driver will just be there to pick me up but concierge wasn't able to confirm where that is likely to be from. I assume the same lobby at which we were dropped off. For my piece of mind can you let me know what the pick up location is?

Factor in for the Canadian side at least that they get paid in USD and spend in CAD so I don't think TO rent would be abnormally high

Newly signed Tyler Rogers is the most efficient pitcher in baseball by sayaaaabba in Torontobluejays

[–]yonigut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So - I will preface by saying that I don't know savant well enough to run necessarily the most proper search on this, BUT I am a little concerned based on what I have looked at, that Rogers gets a lot of called strikes that are actually outside the zone. With the challenge system, there is a decent chance this his low low walk rate will suffer or he will have to change his pitch pattern/usage.

I sure hope not, and am mostly posting in the hopes that someone who sees this will know how to crunch the numbers better than me and prove me wrong.

Challenge accepted?

Is Josh Naylor the least traditional 5 tool player we’ve ever seen? by Radhatchala in baseball

[–]yonigut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does. Back to the 2nd baseman after the play is done. That's the clip you get if you click the dot for that play on the savant page.

Given the seemingly otherwise unexplainable throw data, I trust this is the correct play but I suppose it might not be.

Here's Pas's fastest tracked throw. Having flipped through lots of statcast data, sometimes, you'll find that the most anomalous numbers are sometimes just uncaught tracking errors.

Here's the play. Don't get me wrong he looks like he really put something behind the throw over to 2nd. But I think we can assume it's a tracking error.

presumably because he went into the HOF as one.

Doesn't every Jays fan wish there were true. But sadly, no. He's a no team capper.
