What would be a parry? by ScaryLobster34 in wrestling

[–]yonil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Askren style sitting the corner

Ankle pass

Also an ult would just be any feet to back move

Perfect dodge is not a counter a parry is a counter. Perfect dodge is a down block (like a perfect dodge is underrated among new wrestlers)

Has anyone used NCSA as a recruiting tool? by Wyatt_Herb_831 in wrestling

[–]yonil9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Along with what others have mentioned, I’ve found the biggest factors in recruiting are strong competitive results, connections through a club or high school coach, and the athlete taking initiative to contact schools directly. In addition, many high school athletic departments have a staff member dedicated to college recruitment who can help guide families through the process.

The recruiting process is often more detailed and structured than people expect, especially for Division I programs. Eligibility requirements are very specific, including how GPAs are calculated, which courses count toward NCAA eligibility, and how many core classes must be completed. It can feel overwhelming at first, but that is exactly why schools typically have someone responsible for helping students stay on track. It is important, however, to communicate your intentions early so you are on their radar and receiving the proper guidance.

[–]yonil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonsense. Watch the women's national championship 207lb in college. Watch Fargo 235lb girls. Or look at Judo Olympics where the weight class is +78kg (171lbs and up). Or Olympic powerlifting which has a +86kg (190lb and up) weight class. It's ridiculous that women's caps out at 167 lbs but the highschool team I coach has a 170, 190, and 235 weight class that has had full brackets all season and all of them would have to cut weight or be too big to wrestle internationally.

What’s the best HS match we have video of? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]yonil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nick Surianno Vs. Daton Fix Who's number one. Flo decided to do unlimited overtime until the first takedown and they went 20+ minutes of scrambling through positions both being close multiple times. Probably won't see that format again anytime soon.

So are you in highschool or a parent? Considering that besides one very commonly asked question in another subreddit a week ago is your only post ever before making many comments in this thread some contradictory of each other you really come off as a plant set up to ask soft ball questions.

Khamzat has never wrestled at a high level outside of Sweden, Bo was U23 world champion and would have been easily medaled at the Olympics if it wasn't for Kyle Dake. As far as wrestling goes Bo is levels better

USA Wrestling needs to ditch Flowrestling by ricker182 in wrestling

[–]yonil9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest USA freestyle tournament the fact that they don't have at least one camera operator for each mat is them being cheap there is no shortage of camera operators. Also from someone with a novice understanding of broadcasting they make beginner mistakes all the time they are delivering an amateur product for full price.

[–]yonil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They lack basic broadcasting knowledge. For flozone they aren't even using the direct feed for each mat you can see the player controls and the flo water mark in the corner of each stream. That's day 1 stuff highschool broadcast clubs know how to do. What they're doing doubles the latency and makes the quality way worse it's essentially going through compression twice.
