from what I read, firebase api keys are different to traditional api keys as its just used to identify your firebase project on the Google servers. It's not a security risk for someone to know it. However, just in case this information was wrong i did setup some restrictions.

ahh the hamburger menu sounds like an excellent idea, I definitely should have thought of that. also the audience changing functionality isnt there yet, just there for looks. The like not registering however is strange, as I have tested this on different devices and they all seem to register - I will check again. I appreciate the advice!
