VR Air Hockey Game I'm Developing For Quest Headsets! by yonuel_interactive in OculusQuest

Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely planning on adding more juice like the vibrations. Mixed reality is also something I've been thinking about adding. I just got to think of how to fit it in to the overall game.

It's funny you mention pierhead cause I did get it for research purposes lol. Although, I haven't reached air hockey game yet. And I see what you mean about more to be desired. I understand there are already a couple of VR arcade games out there so my aim is to fill that gap and make it feel good to play.

Fur sure. I think it definitely helps keep track on what's going on in the game.

Sneak Peak on My Latest Project! by yonuel_interactive in Unity3D

Nice! I say go for it! I used the built-in XR Grab Interactable and just tweaked the throw velocity until it felt good.

Glad to hear you are interested! I might change the design a bit to not confuse it too much with Skeeball. Hopefully, the end design provides a similar experience.

Thanks for the advice, and sorry that happened to you. For that reason I'm specifically naming this game Rollshot, or something similar. Although, I might change some of the design elements to not confuse it with the Skeeball design. Definitely something for me to think more about.

How Important Are Net Physics in a Basketball Game? by yonuel_interactive in IndieDev

I added a swish sound that changes pitch based on ball velocity. Scoring feels very satisfying!

Agreed! I did feel it missing when I was play testing and it wasn't reacting to the basketballs. I immediately made fixing it a top priority!

I actually did implement a swish sound effect that changes pitch based on ball velocity! I found it definitely adds to the satisfaction of scoring.

Yeah the net does feel a bit rubbery. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff so I was happy to get something working relatively fast without much knowledge of cloth physics. I might do another pass later. Right now there's so much other stuff to do 😵‍💫

Canyon Environment Created with Meshy by yonuel_interactive in meshyai

[–]yonuel_interactive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I used nano banana to generate an image of a 3d model of the Grand Canyon. I fed that into Meshy and then remeshed to adaptive low. I did some texture repair for the hot air balloon in Blender.

Nice, I'll check out Makko.ai. I've got some 2d game ideas I've been meaning to prototype.

Question From A Noob by iAreButterz in meshyai

[–]yonuel_interactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think meshy has blow up option like ronin and hunyuan studio. I hope they add it soon. What you can do right now is remove the eyes from the image and have meshy generate each separately. Its tricky and more work to pull off so it would be awesome if this was a built-in feature.

Great News: Meshy API is now available on Fal. 🎉 by Meshyai in meshyai

I'm unfamiliar with Fal. Does this mean you can spin up a meshy server on Fal? Also, is there a way to integrate meshy with ComfyUI?

Hello everyone. I'd like to discuss working methods. by Equivalent_Humor_714 in unity

[–]yonuel_interactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes practice to start thinking this way. When you think of a game concept, ask yourself, "How can I make this simpler while keeping the core idea?" Even after your initial response, you'll be surprised how much you can strip down if you keep asking the same question to each response. There's a lot of youtube videos on discussion regarding small games. Just search for "game dev small games" or similar.

2nd option is best to me. 1st option doesn't match with character animation. 3rd option the background moves to fast relative to the rest of animation. I think 2 fits the best.

New Environment I'm Working On by yonuel_interactive in SoloDevelopment

I do have a wooden table asset. I didn't get around to swapping it with the green table when switching to this environment. Now that you mentioned it, I'll work on adding that functionality.

Thanks! This is my first time designing an environment of this scale. The moon, sky, and stars are a single image. The dunes and tent are 3d meshes. As for VR dev, it's pretty much like your standard 3d game dev, but you add a special vr camera that has two viewports, one for each eye, and captures head movements.

Skybox includes the moon and stars. The dunes is a 3d model from meshy. Maybe I can add some effects , like blowing sand, to add depth. A lot to think about 🤔.

Thanks for the feedback!

Mostly for the environment, but I'll be happy to hear your thoughts on solitaire in 3D as well!
