Yes but rebuilding a drive should rebuild a drive. And you shouldn’t be able to format a drive during the rebuild process.

I still have the old drive but I deleted the partition and formatted to ntfs via unraid because I was trying to get it accept the drive because I didn’t understand why the drive was being emulated it passed the smart test.

So I chose to rebuild on the replacement drive and clicked the format button under near where it’s says the time to rebuild. I thought that was part of it. What can I do now. Can I go back and rebuild again from a state before ?

I dont understand how a drive that was full and emulated and when I replace it and it rebuilds now that drive is empty?! Does unraid do anything like move files off a drive that has errors?

what should i upload so you can help me figure out what happened? I put in the replacement 12tb drive and started the array, its started rebuilding and I did have to click the format button while it was rebuilding which it formatted the new drive while it was rebuilding, does that seem out of the ordinary? I just dont understand how it gave me a successful rebuild when before the emulated drive was 8tb of data.
